SPECIAL NOTICES.

Tbe Means of Eseape-

The fall has many perils for the weak and feeble, and its sudden atmospheric changes are trying to the constitutions of even the rc bust. The chilling temperature of the nights as compared with the almost summer warmth of the days, necessarily exercises an unhealthy influence on all who are exposed to it. Hence dysentery, diarrhoea, intermitr tent fevers, bilious attacks, and derange ments of all the secretions, are common at. this season. The true way to escape them is to meet the causes with a protective and invigerating medicine. Hostetter Stomach Bitters are designed for this exigency. Xhis powerful vegetable specific relieves the system of all acrid humors, purifies the fluids, tones the secretive organs, promotes healthy evaporation through the pores, increases the activity of the digestive functions, cheers the spirits, and regulates the bowels, lo do this is to mako the whole body vigorous, and render it proof against the vicissitudes of temperature, and against malaria. A course of the great tonic and alterative is therefore in all cases advisable as a preventive at this season. If, on the othor Land, the mischief is alreaiy done, and intermittent or remit tent fever is actually present, or the liver, bowels, er stomach disordered, there is no medicine so certain to effect aquick acd thorough cure as this harmless and. agreeable preparation.

Ioiyu.. do thanlicy canuoiperf.ir.ii fijiiclio!:.', ami then rouse lip and rctho live:- to a healthy action. For this purpo i", t!ie Hiire.'t ::i:d best remedy is Schcuek's M.mdiakc I'ills. 'i'he^c Piild tk'ini tho stomach and hou cd.- of r.!! the (lead and morbid slime that isi.im-di: i:-ea -o r.:»l ds:ch'y in the whole system. They will clear out tho liver of all diseased bile 'iiat has jieciiniuhited there, and arouse it up to a iicw and healthy action, by which natural and healthy bile is secreted.

The stomach, bowels, and liver are thns cleansed by the nsc of Schenck's Mandrake Fills but there remains in tho stomach an excess of acid, the organ is torpid and the appetite poor. In tho bowels, the lacteals are wea'.c, ai.d requiring strength and support. It is in a condition like this that Schenck's Seaweed Tonic proves to he the most valuable remedy ever discovered. It is alkaline, and its use will neutralize all excess of acid, making tiio stomach sweet and fresh it will give permanent tone to this important organ, and create a good, hearty appetite, and prepare the system for the first process ef a good digestion, and ultimately mako good, licalthy, living blood. After this preparatory treatment, what remains to cure most cases of Consumption is the free and persevering use of Schenck's Ftilmonic Syrup. The Pulmonic Syrup nourishes the system, purifies the blood, and is readily absorbed into the circulation, and thenco distributed to the diseased lungs. There it ripens all morbid matters, whether in the form of abscesses or tubercles, and then assists Nature to expel all the diseased matter in the form of free expectoration, when once it ripens. It is then, by the great healing and purifying properties of Schenck's 1'ulinonic Syrup, that all ulcers and c::vities aro healed up sound, and my pa: ient is cured.

The essential thing to be done in curing Consumption is to get up a good appetite and a good (liu'eslion. so I hat the body will grow in flesh and •rot strong. Ifn person has diseased lungs, a cavity or abscess there, the cavity cannot Ileal, tho matter cannot ripen, so long as the-system is below par. What is necessary to cure is nciv order of things, a good appetite, good nutrition, the body to grow in flesh and get fat then NattiiM is helped, the cavitics will heal, the matte." will ripen and be thrown off in large quantities,, and the person regain health and strength. Thk is the true an 1 only plan to cure Consumption and if a person is very bad, if the lungs „rs ,oo: entirely destroyed, or even if one Inng it entirely ^one, if there is enough vitality left in the othej to heal up. there is hope.

I have seen many persons cured, with only one sound lung, live and enjoy life to a good old ag« l'liis is what Schenck's Medicines will do to euro Consumption. They will clean out the stomach, sweeten and strengthen it. get up a good digestion, and give Nature the assistance site needs to ilenr the system of all tho disease that it in Uie lungs, whatever tlie form may be.

It is Important that, while using Schenck's Medicines, care should be cxerciscd not to take old keep in-doors in cool and damp weather avoid night-air, and take out-door exercise only in a genial and warm sunshine.

I wish it distinctly understood tlmt when I recommend a patient to bo careful in regard to taking cold while using my medicines, I do so for a special reason. A man who lias but partially recovered from tho effects of a bad cold is far more liable to a relapse than one who has been entirely cured, and it is precisely the same in regard to Consumption. So long as the Uings are not perfectly healed, Just so long is there imminent danger of a full return of the disease. Hcucc it is that I so strenuously caution pulmonary patients against exposing themselves to an atmosphere that is not genial and pleasant. Confirmed Consumptives' lungs aro amass of sores, which the least change of atmosphere will inflame. The grand secret of my succcse with my medicines consists in my ability to subdue inflammation instead of provoking it. as many or the faculty da An inflamed lung cannot with safety to the pa tient be exposed to the biting blasts of winter ot the chilling winds of spring or autumn. It should be carefully shielded from all irritating influences. Tha utmost caution should be observed in this particular, as without it a cure under almost any circumstances is an impossibility.

The person should be kept on a wholesome and nutritions diet, and all the medicincs continued until the body has restored to it tho natural quantity of flesh and strength.

I was myself cured by this treatment of tho worst kind of Consumption, and have lived to ret fat and hearty these many years, with one lung mostly gone. I have cured thousands since, and very many have been curcd by this treatment whom I have never seen.

About the 1st of October, I expect to take possession of my new building at the northeast corner of Sixth and Arch Streets, where I shall be pleased to give advice to all who may reqnirc it.

Full directions accompany all my remedies, so lhat a person in any part of the world can be read «•!'cured by a Etrict observance of the same.
