The trustees will be assisted by well known and eminent citizens of Kentucky, who have consented to be present at the oonoert and to superintend the drawing and distribution of gifts.

The holders of tickets to which gifts are awarded will be paid on presentation of them or their fraction* at the office in Louisville, the second day after the drawing and every business day for six months thereafter, and may be sent direct or through any Bank or Express Ce.» for collection. All orders accom pan led by Drafts, Post office Money Orders, or Greenbacks, will be promptly attended to and tickets returned by mail, registered or expressed, as desired,

Buyers will note that there are only One Hundred Thousand Tickets, instead of Two Hundred Thousand, as in the San Francisco Gift Concert, and that there is #50,000 more distributed. I sold that and niade the awards in four months and paid •4*8,OOv to ticket holders from Nov. 2d to loth, 1870, and turned over 912,000 to the Seoretary no re

It will be particularly noticed that it is a matter of impossibility for any one to know what numbers draw gifts, as it is not known what the gift of any number drawn from the first wheel will be, until the sealed box, with tho amount of the gift plainly printed, is taken from the other wheel ana opened in full viow of the audienoe, therefore the larger gifts may not come out until towards the last, or in the middle of the drawing. The $100,000 gitt in the San Francisco Gift Concert under the management of C. R. PHTBBS, was the 200th number drawn, and was awarded and paid to a gontlemai in New Orleans. 721 Gifts is all that can be drawn in one day. aarThe Numbers and Gifts are drawn by Mk blind ohildren from 8 to 14 yeaw of age.

The Drawing will be extensively published, and parties ordering Tickets will have printed lists sent them. Parties forming Ulubs and desiring information will please address this office. 11 Tickets for $100 28 Tickets $255, 50 Ticket®, $1,000.

of the very successful Mercantile Library Gift Concert at San Francisco, California, has been appointed agent and manager of the Gift Concert in aid of the Public Library ofKontucky.

The drawing will take place in public, and everything will be done to satisfy buyers of tickets that their interest will be as well protected as if they personally superintended the ontiro affair. MANNER OF DRAWING:

There will be two glass wheels. One wheel will contain 100,000 numbers, plainly printed on leather tags. Tho other wheel will contain 721 boxes, each containing a gift. One tag or number will be drawn from the 100,000 wheel, and the first box drawn from the second or 721 box wheel will' contain a gift, neatly printed and sealed up, and the gift so drawn from the second wheel will be the gift of the tag first drawn, whether $100, $1,000, or 100,000, as announced.

14,364 TICKKTS DISPOSED 0Fj|lN JULY,

To insure ticket holders, the public are assured that if only 25,000 tickets are sold only 25,000 numbers go to the large wheel, the 721 gifts awarded, but diminished pro rata. In case 50.000 tlokeU only are sold, only nu hers I te 50,000 ge in the large wheel, and the 721 gifts diminished one-half and in owe only 85,000 tickets are sold the entire 721 gifts will be paid in fall—it being intended that no unsold tickets shall participate.

The manager has already paid into the Citixens' Bank Uo,«oo towards defraying the expenses, and does not depend on sales of tickets to pay his expenses of Printing, Advertising. Ac. The public are invited to the utmost scrutiny as to the reliability of the entire affair.

SPECIAL NOTICES.

Influence of Temperature on Health. In the 111 the difference between the temperature of night and day is greater than at any other time of the year. In the early autumn the quicksilver sometimes rises as high daring the day as in the fervid summer weather, while at night it often sinks to an almost wintry point. The human body not being made of steel or India rubber, sensibly feels these tremendous changes. To fortify the system agsint them, a genuine tonio is required and the public has long since discovered that among this description of medicines Hostetter's Stomach Bitters is infinitely the best. It gently quickens the circulation, reg ulates the bowels, tones the liver, braces the nerves, and thus puts the whole physique on its defence against the vicissitudes of temperature in our climate. Few if any cases of epidemic fever are heard of in localities where it is in common nse. As it becomes more and more widely known, and the demand for it increases, chills and fever, and the bilioas remittent seem to recede before it and if ever it should come into universal use these diseases would cease to be known as the scourges of our low-lying and marshy districts. That homely bit of proverbial philosophy, that "prevention is better than cure" should be especially borne in mind in the autumn months and indeed in all seasons. together with the fact, that among all the preventives of malarious diseases Hostetter's Stomach Bitters is the most safe and

Be certain, however, to obtain the genuine article, as countless imitations of a pernicious character are abroad. See that the externals are all right, and remember that Hostetter's Stomach Bitters is sold in bottles alone.

Dr. schenck has in his own case proved that wherever sufliciont vitality remains, that vitality. by his medicines and his directions for their use, is qutckenud into healthful vigor. in this Statement thero is nothing presumptuous. To tue faith of the invalid is made no representation that is not a thousand times substantiated by living and visible works. The theory of the cure by Dr. Schenck's medicines is us simple us It is unfailing. Its philosophy requires no argument. It is self-assuring. soli-con-yinctocf*

The Sea-weed Tonlcand Mandrake Pills are the first two weapons with which tho citadel or the luuimly Is assailed. Two thirds of the cases Ok consumption originate in dyspepsia and a functionally disordered liver. With this condition the bronchial tubes "sympathise" with the stomach. Tnov respond to the morbific action of the liver, flare then comes the culminating result, and the setting in, with all its distressing symptoms of

CONSUMPTION.

The Mandrake Pills are composed of one of Nature's noblest gifts—the Podopliillum Peltutum. They possess all tho blood-searching, alterative properties of ailouicl, but, unlike calomel, they

LEAVE NO STING BEHIND." The work of cure is now beginning. The vitiated and muctius deposits In the bowels and in the allmentury ciuiul are ejected. The liver, like a clock, is wound up. It arouses from its torpidity. The stomach acts responsively. and tho patieut begins to feel that he is getting, at last,

A SUPPLY OF GOOD BLOOD. The Sea-weed Tonic, In conjunction with the Pills, permeates and assimilates with the food. Chylificatlon is now progressing without its preyions tortures. Digestion becomes painless, and the cure is seen to be at haud. There is no more flatulence, no exacerbation of the stomach. An

The socond thing is, the patients must stay In a warm room until they get well it is almost impossible to prevent taklnjr sold when the lungs are diseased, but it must be prevented or a euro can not be effected. Fresh air aad riding out, especially In this section of the country, in the tail and winter season, are all wrong. Physicians who recommend that course lose their patients. if their lungs are badly diseased: and yeL because they are In the house they must not sit down quiet they must walk about the room ni"much and as'fast'as the strength will besr.to set up a good circulation of blooa. The patients must kiep in good spirits—be determined to get well. This lias a great deal to do with the appotlte. and is tho great point to gain.

To despair of cure after such evidence of Us Possibility in the worst cases, and merat certainty in all others, is sinful. Dr. Schenck's personal statement to tho Faculty

Are indorsed and prescribed by more leading Physicians than any tonic or stimulant now in nse, They area SURE PREVENT* IVK for Fever and Ague, Intermittents, Biliousness and all disorders arising from miasmatic causes. They are highly recommended aa«n anti dyspeptic, and in eases of indigestion are invaluable as an Appetiser and Recnperant, and in cases of General Debility they nave never in a single instance failed in producing the most happy results. They are particularly BENEFICIAL TO FEMALES, strengthening the body, invigorating the mind and givingtone and elasticity to the whole system. Tbe HOME BITTERS are oomponnded with the greatest eare, and no Tonic Stimnlant has ever been offered to the pnblio SO PLEASANT TO THE TASTE, and at the same time combining so many medical agents, indorsed by the medical fraternity as the best known to the Pharmacopoeia. It costs litttle to give them a fair trial, and Ererj Family should have a Bottle.

We ask every one to read tbe following certificate from many of the most eminent phy^S^Louw,® Ju?y^wW-JAMES A. JACKSON CO.: Gentlemen—As yon have communicated to the medical profession the rec-

We have examined the formula for making the "Home Bitters," and unhesitatingly say the combination is one ofrare excellence, all the articles used in its composition are the best of the class to whioh they belong, being highly Tonic, Stimulant, Stomachio. Carminative and slightly Laxative. The mode of preparing them is strictly in accordance with the rules of pharmacy. Having used them, seen its effect in our private practice, we take
