Buyers will note that there are only One Hundred Thousand Tickets, instead of Two Hundred Thousand, as in the San Francisoo Gift Concert, and that there is 850,000 more distributed. I sold that and made the awards in four months and paid #448,000 to ticket holders troin Nov. 2d to 15th, 1870, and turned over 8158,000 to the Secretary due tiekets not presented.

It will bo particularly noticed that it is a matter of impossibility for any one to know what numbers draw gifts, as it is not known what the gift of any number drawn from the first wheel will be, until the sealed box, with the amount of the gift plainly printed, is taken from the other wheel and opened in full view of tho audience, therefore the larger gifts may not come out until towards the last, or the middle of the drawing. The $100,000 gitt in the San Francisco Gift Concert under the management of C. K. PkTKRs, was the 200th number drawn, and was awarded and paid to a gcntlemai in New Orleans. 721 Gifts is all that can be drawn in one day.

BbBrThe Numbers and Gifts are drawn by blind children from 8 to 14 years of age. The Drawing will be extensively published, and parties ordering Tickets will have printed lists sent them. SPECIAL.NOTICES.

Wilted Down.

Ask the than who complains of "wilting down" in torrid jreaflie£„what he has doneto sustain his rystem under.the extra, strain imposed on ins-vitality. He may fell you that he has tried a variety of cathartics to purify his blood and brighten his spirits. Under ^surh treatment, of coarse, his strength has jjgiven way, and his energies have beoome exhausted. What he requires is a restorative, not a depletant. His blood is thin his nerves have lost their natural tension, and nature demands to be renovated and reinforced.

Tlie means is within the reach of all. For nearly a score of years, Hostctter's Stomach Bitters ha* been building tip broken constitutions, bracing and strengthening, attenuated frames, and affording comfort, ease, and hope to thousands. As a preventive of the epidemics which make such havoc with the health of the inhabitants of new settlements, this famous tonic is certainly without rifal. Perhaps the principal portion of its wdrld fame is attributable ts its astonishing cujres of djspppsia. and all forms of indigestion. But these are not a moiety »f its triumphs., All the types of biliousness yield to ita persistent use. It is a regulating inedicite of the highest order and its effects upon the secretions, when irregular, is most salutaty.

Imposition of the grossest character is sought to be prac iced upon the community byj vendors, who recommend under the name of. "bitters," fiery compounds of a dangerous character, which they attempt to substitute for the great national tonic Shnn all such nostrums, and see that you have the gepuine Hostetter's Stomach Bitters, properly authenticated by, label, name and stamp, •nd sold in bottles only.

In this stnteiuont thero is nothing presumptuous. 'J'o tlie faith of the invalid is made no representation that is not a thousand times substnntiatod by living and visible works. The tlieury of tlio.cure by Dr. Sehenck's mediclpes iaSis jtimplo as it Is unfailing. 1W phllosopMrTequlr6w no argument. It is Bclf-asfiuring, seu-con-

'i'lie §ca-weed Tonic and Mandrake Pills are the first two weapons witli wlilcli tho citadel of the malady is assailed. Two thirds of tho cases or consumption orfcinftto in dyspepsia and a unctioiially disordered liver. With this condition the bronchial tubes "sympathize" with the stomach. Tliev respond to the morbinc action o£ tii« liver. Here then comes the culmlnatlngf i*fllllt, and Jhoaettlug in, with all its distressing symptoms of

CONSUMPTION.

The Mandrake Pills aro composed of one of Nature's noblest gifts—the Podophillum I'eltutum. They possess ull the llo6d-searching, alterative "properties of calomel, but, unlike calomel, they

JjEAVE NO STJNG' BEniND.'TOj Tho work of cure Is now beginning. The vitlaled and mucttus deposits In the bowels and In the alimentary canal are ejected. The liver, liko clock, is wound up. It arouses from its torpids ity. The stomach acts respotoslvely, hnd the patient uegins to feci that ho is getting, ut last,,

A SUPPLY OF GOOD BLOOD. The Sea-weed Tonic, In conjunction with the Pills, permeates and assimilates with the /oiid. Chyliflcation is now progressing without Its previous tertures. Digestion becomes palmess.and the cure'is seen to boat lmnd. Thereis no more flatulence, no exacerbation of the stomach. As stite sets In. few comes the greatest Blood Purifier ever yet given by an Indulgent father to Buffering nnn. Bchenck's Pulmonic Syrup comes In perform its functions and to hasten and complete tho cure. It enters at once upon its work. Nature ein not bo cheated. It collects and ripens the Impaired and diseased portions of the lungs. In the form of gaUierlngs, It prepares them /or expectoration, and lol Inn very short time the malady la vanquished, tlie rotten throne thatlt 'occupied Is renovated und made new, and the patient, in all tlie dignity of regained vigor.'stepa forth to enjoy tho manhood or womanhood that was

GIVEN UP AS LOS?.

The second thing is, tho patients must stay In a warm room until they get well it is almost Impossible to prevent takin* cold when tho lungs ar» diseased, but it must be prevented or a cure not be effected.' Fresh air and riding out, especially in tills section of the country, in the tall and winter season, aro all wrong. Physicians who recommend that cpurso lose their patients, if their lung* are badly dlseayd and yet, "Becftnsd they iiro In the house theymust not sit down quiet they must walk about the room

as much and as fast as the strength will bear, to "Mt up* good circulation of Blood.' The patients mustJceep in good spirits—be determined to get "welt. This has a great deal to do with the appe-

tlte, and Is the great point togain. To despair of cure after such evidence of ks possibility in the worst cases, and meral certainty in all others, is sinful. Dr. Schenck's personal statement to tho Faculty of his own cure was in these modest words:

Many years ago 1 was in the last stages of consumption confined to my bed, and at one time my physicians thought that could not live a week: then, like a drowning man catching at straws, I heard of and obtained the preparations which 1 now offer to the public, and they made a perfect cure of me. It seemed to me that 1 could feel thera penetrate my whole system. They soon ripened the matter In my lungs, and 1 would spit up more than a pint of offensive y«Uow matter everymorning for a- long time.

As soon as that began ureobside, my cough, teVer, pains, and night sweato ull.beSr.in tolcaye mei and my appetite beo»me%o (t*earihat It was with difficulty that could keep from eating too much. 1 soon gained my strength, and have grown In flesh ever since. "I was weighed shortly after my rec added the Doctor, then looking like

Northern Pacific Railroad

RAF ID PROGRESS OF THE WORK.

The building of the Northern Pacific Railroad, (begun July last,) is being pnshed forward with great energy from both extremities of the line. Several thousand men are employed in Minnesota and on the Pacific coast. The grade is nearly completed 266 miles westward from Lake Superior trains are running over 130 miles of finished road, and track-laying is rapidly progressing' toward •he eastern boarder ol Dakota. Including its

Siorthern

nrcha8e of tho St. Paul Pacific Road, tho Pacific Company new has 413 miles of completed road, and by September next this will be increased to at least B60.

A INVESTMENT. Jay Cooke & Co. are now selling, and unhesitatingly recommend, as a Profitable and rerieetly Safe investment, the First Mortgage Land Grant Gold bonds of the Northern Pacific Railroad Conpany. They have 30 years to ran, bear Seven and Three-Tenths per cent, gold interest (more than 8 per cent, currency) and are secured by first and only mortgage on the iktibk so An axu ns and also, as fast as the road is completed, on 23,000 ACKES OF LAND to every mile of track, or 500 Acrer for each 1,000 Bond. They are exempt from U. S. Tax: Principal and interest are payable in Gold, Denominations: Coupons, 8100 to 31,000 Registered, $100 to $10,000.

The proceeds of all sales of Lands are required to be devoted to the re-purchase and cancellation of the First Mortgage Bonds of the Company- The Land Grant of the Road exceeds Fifty Million Acres. This immense Sinking Fund will undoubtedly cancel the principal ot the Company's bonded debt before it falls due. With their ample security and high rate of interest here is no investment accessible to the people, which is more profitable ob s«fb. kXCHAAGiKO G. S. F1V3-TWENT1I£.
