Indigestion is the primary cause of the most of the diseases of the discharging ortans and one of its most common results is constipation. This complaint, besides being dan gerous in itself, has many disagreeable concomitants—such as an unpleasant breath, a sallow skin, contaminating blood and breath and bile, hemorrhoids, headache, loss of of memory and general debility.
Hostctter's Stomach. Bitttrs remove all these evils by removing their immediate cause in the digestive organs, and regulating the notion of the intestines. The combination of properties in this celebrated preparation is ono of its chief merits It is not merely a stimulant or a tonic, or antibiliious agent, or a nervine, or a blood depurent, or a cathartic, but all these curative elementi judiciously blended in one powerful restorative It lends activity and vigor to the inert and enervate stomach relieves the alimentary canal of its obstructions, and gives tone to the membrane which lines it, gently stimulates the liver, braces the nerves, and cheers the animal spirit'. No other remedy possesses such a variety of hygienic virtues. It is to tbese characteristics that it owes its prestige as a household medicne. Experience has proved that it is as harmless as it is efficacious, and hence it is as popular with the weaker sex as with the ctronger.
Ilostetcer's Stomach Bitters are sold in bottles only, and the trado-inar™ blown in the glass and engraved on the labels, is the test rtf genuineness. Beware of counterfeits.

The Sea-weed Tonic and Mandrake Pills are tho llrst two weapons with which the citadel of tho maiady is availed. Two thirds of the cases of coutfimiptiou originate in dyspepsia and a funotionaHy disordered liver. NTith this condition the bronchial tubes "sympathize" with the ctoniach. They respond to the morbific action of the iivor. Ilere then cmics the culminating result, and the sotting in, with all its distressing symptoms of
CONSUMPTION.
The Mandrake rills* arc composed of onoof Nature's noblust gifts—tho Podophyllum Peltatum. They possess all the blood-searching, altcratlvo properties of ral:ii'l, but, unlike calomel, they j"liEAVE NO STISO BEHIND."
Til's work of cure Is now beginning. Tho vitiated and niiH.'MUsdeposits In tno bowels (ind in the alimentary caim) mo rjected. Tho liver, jiko a clock, id wound up. arouses from Its torpid* itv. 'i'lip siojuach acts respunsivelv, and tha patient begins lo feci that ho is getting, ut test,

appetite sets in. Now comes tho greatest Blood Purifier ever yet given by an indulgent father to suffering man. Schenck's Pulmonic Syrup eames in te perform its functions nnd to hasten and complete th9 cure. It enters at once upon its work. Nature cin not be cheated. It collects and ripens tha impairod and diseased portions of the lungs. Jn the form of gatherings, it prepares them for expectoration, and lol in a'very shurt time tho uiqnliulr is vanquished, the rotten throne that tt u.u.. |-A Is renovated and made new, and tho occupli«KJil(t*i,io dignity of regained vigor, steps

warm room until they get well it ts almost lmpossible to prevent tukin* cold when the lungs are diseased, but it must be prevented or a cure can not be effected. Fresh air and riding out, especially in this section of the country, in the tall and winter souson, are all wrong. Physicians who recommend that course lose their patients, if their lungs are badly diseased and yet, because they are in tho house they must pot sit down quiet they must walk about the room as much and as fast as the strength will bear, to cct up a good circulation of blood. The patients must keep in good spirits—be determined to get well. This has a great deal to do witu tho appetite, and is the great point to gain.
To despair of cure after such evidence of Its possibility in the worst cases, and moral certainty in all others, is sinful. Dr. Schenck's personal statement to tho Faculty of -his own cure was in these modest words "Many years ago I was in the last stages of consumption, confined to iny bed, and at one time my physicians thought that I could not live a week then, liko a drowning man catching at straws, I heard of and obtained the preparations which 1 now offer to the public, and they made a perfect cure of me. It seemed to me that I could feel them penetrate my whole system. They soon ripened tho matter in my lungs, and 1 would spit up moro than a pint of offensive yellow matter every morning for along time.
As soon as that began to subside, my cough, fever, pains, and night sweats all began to leavo me. and my appetite bccam^so great that it was with difficulty that I could keep from eating too much* 1 soon gained my strength, and have grown In flesh ever since. "I was weighed shortly after my recovery," added the Doctor, then looking like a mere skeleton my weight was only ninety-seven pounds my present weight Is two hundred and twenty-five (225) pounds, and for years I have enjoyed uninterrupted health."
Dr. Schenck has. discontinued his professional visits to New-York and Boston. He or his son. Dr. J. H. Schenck, Jr., still continue to see patients at their office. No. 15 North Sixth Street, Philadelphia, every Saturday from
9 A.M.to3 P.M.
Those who wjsh a thorough examination with the Respiroraeter irill bo charged W. The Bcspirometer declares the cxaot condition of the lungs, and patients can readily learn whether
tliey aro curable or not. The
j.ae directions for taking the medicines aro adapted to the Intelligence even of a child. Follow these directions, and kind Nature will do the rest, excepting that In gome cases the Mandrake Pills are to be taken in Increased doses the three medicines need no other accompaniments than the ample Instructions that accompany, them: First wente appetite. Of returning health, hunger is tho most welcome symptom. When It comes, as it will come, let the despairing at once be of geod cheer. Good blood atone# follows, the cough loosens, the night, sweat is abated, in a short time both of theso morbid symptoms are gone forever.
Dr. Sohonck's medicines aro constantly kepVn tons of thousands of families. As a luxattveror DUMStivo. the Mandrake Pills area standard preparation while tho Pulmonic 8yrup, as a cure of coughs and colds, muy bo regarded as a prophylacterie against consumption to aiiy of its °Prtce of the Pulmonic Syrup and Sea-weed Tonic, »l
