Valuable Hints'

A regular habit of body is absolutely essential to physical health and clearness of intellect. Nor is this all. Beauty of person cannot co-exist with an unnatural condition the bowels. A free passage of the refuse matter of the system through these natural waste pipes, is as necessary to the purity of the body as the free pasage of the offal of a city through its sewers is nece^ary to the health of its inhabitants._

Indigestion is the primary cause of the most of the diseases of tho discharging ortans and one of its most common results is constipation. This complaint, besides being dangerous in itself, has many disagreeable concomitants—such as an unpleasant breath, a sallow skin, contaminating blood and breath and bile, hemorrhoids, headache, loss of of memory and general debility.

Hosteller's Stomach Bittrrs remove all these evils by removing their immediate cause in the digestive organs, and regulating the action of the intestines. The combination of properties in this celebrated preparation is on'' of its chief merits It is not merely a stimulant or a tonic, or antibillious agent, or a nervine, or a blood depnrent, or a cathartic, but all these curative elements judiciously blended in one powerful restorative It lends activity and vigor to the inert and enervate stomach relieves the alimentary canal of iu obstructions, and gives tone to the mombrane which lines it, gently stimulates the liver, braces the nerves, and cheers the animal spirits. No other remedy possesses such a variety of hygienic virtues. It is to these characteristics that it owes its prestige as a household medicine. Experience has proved that it is as harmless as it iff efficacious, and hence it is as popular with the weaker sex as with the stronger.

Hostetrer'sStomach Bitters are sold in bottles only, and the trade-mark blown in the gla?s and engraved on the labels, is the test of genuineneFS. Beware of counterfeits.

CONSUMPTION.

lis Cure and Its Preventive.

d'jntli 1111• rts was mi oilier reason than the neglect ofiii.owii iiinl iiulispuuiblv proven means of cure. Tlin»i' iw:ir ami dear to tamily and trtends are KliTfinU the ilrt'urnless slumber Into which, had tliuy c.i.mly adopted nfi.JHSKPII II. SCIIENCK'S SIMPLE

TltEAT.niiXT,

and avuilod themselves of his wonderfully efflcaeWus un-dicine.-, they would not have fallen. lr. -cheiick has ill Ills own case proved that whiTi-vi sufficient vitality remains, that vitaltv, by hi.i medicines and his directions for their i:s.\ is iiiiickened Into healthful vigor.

Ill this statement there ts nothing presumptuous. To the faith of the Invalid is made no representation that is not a thousand times substantiated lv living and visible works. Tho theory of the cure by Dr. Schenck's medicines is as simple as it is unfailing. Its philosophy re(juires no uifument. It is self-assuring, self-con-'J'lie

Sea-weed

Tonic and Mandrake Pills are the

first two weapons with which tho citadel of the imt:aly assailed. Two thirds of tbc eases of consumption originate in dyspepsia and a functionaliy disordered liver. With this condition the bronchial tubes "sympathize" with the stomach. Tliev respond to the morbific action of the liver. Hero then comes the culminating result, and tho setting in, with all its distressing symptoms of

CONSUMPTION.

The Mandrake I'ills are composed of one of Nature's noblest piUs-tlie I'odophlllum Peltatum. 'J'liev possess all the blood-searching, alterative properties of calomel, but, unlike calomel, they

I.KAVE NO STIXG BEHIND." The work of cure Is now beginning. The vitiated and mucous deposits in the bowels and in the alimentary canal are ejected. The liver, liko a cluck. Is wound up. It arouses from lis torpiditv. The stomach acts responsively. and tha patient begins to feel that ho is getting, at last,

A SUPPLY OF GOOD BLOOD. The Pen-weed Tonic, In conjunction with tho Pills, permeates and assimilates with the food. Chylilication is now progressing without Its previous tortures. Digestion becomes painless.and the cure is seen to boat hand. There is no morq flatulence, no exacerbation of the stomach. A* appetite sets in.

Now comes the greatest Blood Purifier ever yet

§ehenck'san

iven by indulgent father to suffering man. Pulmonic Syrup comes in ta perform its functions and to hasten and complete tho cure. It enters at once upon its work. Nature cin not be cheated. It collects and ripens tho impaired and diseased portions of the lungs. In the form of gatherings, it prepares them for expectoration, and lol in a very shurt time the malady is vanquished, the rotten throne that it oocupicd Is renovated and made new, and the patient, in all tho dignity of regained vigor, steps forth to enjoy the manhood or womanhood that was

GIVEN UP AS LOST.

The sccond thing is, tho patients must stay In a warm room until they get well it is almost impossible to prevent taking cold when the lungs aro diseased, but it must be prevented or a cure can not bo effected. Fresh air and riding out, especially in this section of the country, in tho tall and winter season, aro all wrong. Physicians who recommend that course ioso their patients, if their lungs are badly diseased and yet, because they aro In the bonso they must not sit down quiet they must walk about the room as much and ns fast as the strength will bear, to get up a good circulation of blooa. The patients must keep in good spirits—be determined to get well. This has great deal to do with the appetite, and Is the great point to gain.

To despair of cure after such evidence of its possibility in the worst cases, and moral certainty in all others, is sinful. Dr. Schenck's personal statement to tho Faculty of his own cura was in these modest words:

Many years ago I was in tho last stages of consumption oonflned to my bed, and at one time my physicians thought that I could not live a week then, liko a drowning man catching at straws, I heard of and obtained the preparations which I now offer to the public, and they made a perfect cure of me. It seemed to

\po

that I

could feel them penetrate my wholo system. They soon ripened the matter In my lungs, and 1 would spit up more than a pint of offensive yellow matter every morning for along time.

As soon as that began to subside, my cough, fever, pains, and night sweats all began to leave ..... i.

wag

Those who wish thorough examination with tho Hesptrometor will be charged J5. The Respirometer declares the exact condition ®f tho lungs, and patients can readily learn whether they are curable or not.

The directions for taking the medicines aro adapted to the Intelligence even of a child. Follow these directions, and kind Nature will do the rest, excepting that in some cases the Mandrake Pllla are to be taken in lncrsused doses tho three medicines need no other accompaniments than the ample instructions that accompany them First create appetite. Of returning health, hunger is tho most welcome symptom. When it oomos, ns it will come, let tho despairing at onoe be of good chcer. Good blood at onos follows, tho cougn loosens, the night sweat is abated. In a short time both of these morbia symptoms aro gone forever.

Dr. Sohcnak's medicines are constantly kept .n tens of thousands of families. As a laxatlvo or purgative, tho Mandrake Pills are standard preparation wbflo tho Pulmonic Syrup, as a cure of coughs and colds, may he regarded ns & Ptophylucterlo against consumption In any of its forms.

Price of the Pulmonic Syrup and Sea-weed Tonic, $1.60 a bottle, or $7.50 a half dozen. Man. drake Pills, 25 oents a box. For sale by all drug gists and dealers.
