The Shivering Season.
Tho loss of the laboring classes of the United States caused by fever and ague, has boon estimated at upwards of two millions of dollars per annum. Whole settlomont are sometimes prostrated by tho disoase, and it is regarded in some localities, as one of those visitations of providence which cannot be avoided. This is a mistake. As certainly as any of the evils which aro invited by neglect may be forestalled by precaution—so certainly may an attack of intermittent (or remittent) fever bo prevented by invigorating the system with Hostottor's Stomach Bitters, in advance of the season, at which this malady prevails. Prevention, it is needless to say, is tho wisest policy but it is consoling to know that where time hag not been thus taken by tho forelock, nnd tho proxsyms have actually commenced, acomploto cure may, in all cases, be rapidly effected by the use of this powerful vegetable tonic. The reputation of the Bittors as a specifio for dyspepsia, liver complaint, consumption and. norvious debility, has in some measuro thrown into the shado its merits as a preventive and cure of other ailments, but all who havo ever taken it, eithor as a protection against or a yenicdy for malarious fevers, will admit that It surpassess in efficiency all tho so-called specifics (inoluding quinine,/ usually prescribed for these maladies, while it is at tho same time entirely .harmless and decidedly palatable. sp7dwlw
