dary passed on the third reading the House bill to pay Ward and Briggs, lessees of the penitentiary, $132,000 of their claim against the State and adopted a resolution providing for taking immediate possession of the penitentiary also passed on the third reading the House bill to reduce tax on liquor dealers. The bill is a great reduction on the old tax and satisfactory to the trade.
