Tago
HESE PILLS,
SO
celebrated many years
in Paris, for the relief of female ir
regularities, and afterwards so notorious for their criminal employment in the practice of abortion, are now offered for sale for the firs? time in America. They have been kept in comparative obscurity, from the fact that the originator Dr. Velpeau, is a physician in Paris of great wealth and strict conscientious prin ciples, and has withheld them from general use lest thej' should bo employed for unlawful purposes. In overcoming female obstructions they seem to be truly omnipotent, bursting open the flood gates from whatever cause may have stopped them but they are offered to the public only for legitimate use, and all agents are forbidden to sell them when it is understood that the object is unlawful.
CAUTION.—Married Ladies should never take them when there is any reason to believe themselves pregnant, for they will be sure to produce a miscarriage.

Consumption.
DR.
SCHKXCK'S
PL'I.MOXIC
DR. SCHEXCK'RMANDTMKK PIU.S, for Diseas cs of the liver, or to act as a General PurgaAU of these three Mcdicines arc often requirtive, ed in curing Consumption, though the Pulmonic Syrup alone has cured many desperate eases. The Seaweed Tonic and Mandrake Pills assist in regulating the Stomach and Liver, and help the Pulmonic Syrup to dig at and search hrough the blood vessels, by which means cure is soon effected.
These mcdicines are eoncsicntiously offered to the public as the only safe, certain and reliable remedies for Pulmonary Consumption nd for all those morbid conditions of the body which load to that fatal disease. Liver Complaint and dyspepsia arc often forerunrs of Consumption and when they manifes themselves they require the most prompt at tention.
The Pulmonic Syrup is a medicine which is had a long probation before the publicIts value has been proved by thousand of cure has made through a period of more than thirty-five years in all of which time its rcpution has constantly increased and the most obstinate skepticism cap no longer doubt that is a remedy which may be used with confidence in all eases which admit of a cure.
If the patient will pcrreveringly follow tiie directions which accompany each bottle, he ill certainly b? cured, if his lungs are not too uch wasted to make a cure possible. Even rases supposed to be incurable, when friends and physicians have despaired, the use of this Medicine has eared the life of the patient and restored him to perfect health.
Dr. Sehcnck docs not say that all cases of Pulmonary Consumption are within the reach of medicine, but he emphatically asserts that often when patients have the most alarming symptoms such as a violent cough, creeping chills, night sweats and general debility, even to such a degree that they are obliged to lie in bed, and when they are given up by their physicians they may still Injured. No medical treatment can create new lungs, but when the lungs arc very sadly diseased, and to sum extent destroyed, a cure may be effected by I)r. SchencVs mcdicines.
Also in Scrofulous Diseases, these medicines are equally efficient. Dr. Sehcnck has photo graphs of a number of persons who have been nearly eovcrcd with running sores, and now all healed up. This shows its purifying properties, which must be done to heiil cavities in the lungs.
In the treatment of Consumption it is of the utmost importance to give Vigof and a healthy tone to the system. Hence it i.- necessary to strengthen the appetite of the patient and improve the digestion. Proper noui 'aliment is required together with such means a.s will make the food easily digestible. Che articles most suitable, for the diet of Consumptive patients are designated in Dr. Schon'-k's Almanacs, which are distributed gratuitously. In general, the most highly nutritious articles are to be preferred, but the digestive organs must be strsnghtcncd in order to make either food or medicine serviceable. This requirement is met by the Seaweed Tonic, and for this purpose it was dosigna3cd.
When the digestive powers arc put in good order the food has its proper effect, the system of the patient is invigorated and the iungs begin to exercisc their functions in a nominal and healthy manner. Then the healing powers of the Pulmonic Syrup will complete the cure.
Pulmonary Consumption is almost always Complicated with Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. Schenck's Mandrake Pills intended to remove obstruction from the liver and restore its healthy action. They have all the efficacy which is ascribed to calomel or "blue mass," and arc warranted not to contain a particle of any mineral poison. These pills cure the nv*st obstinate costivcness, siekheadache, piles, bilious affections and all other diseases which arise from a torpid or obstructed condition of tho liver. Ono box of these pills will prove the efficacy of tho medicine.
In Consumption the Seaweed Tonic and Mandrake Pills arc invaluable auxiliary medicines. They relievo tho sufferings of the patient and assisst the Pulmonic Syrup in effecting a cure. They have been found useful i:i advanced stages of Consumption, when the lungs are almost entirely destroyed, and nil sjymptoms according to tho judgment of I physicians, indicatod speedy death. The lives of patients who were actually in a dying condition have been preserved for months by the use of Schenck's three great remedies.
Dr. Schenck's Almanac containing a full tl-eatisc on the various forms of disease, his mode of treatment, and general directions how to use his medicine can be had gratis, or sent by mails by addrcssins his Principal Office No. 15 North Sixth street Philadelphia Pa.

The Shivering Season*
It impossible to suppose that any human being can consider an attack of Fever and Auge a light visitation. And yet thousands act as if such a calamity wasof no consequence, while thousands who are actually saffering from the distressing complaint neglected to adopt the certain means of cure. It ongh to be known in every locality gabjeet to this scourge, or wljich is infested with remittent fever, or any other epidemic produced by malaria, that llOSTETTER'S STOMACH BITTERS taken in advance or at the commencement ofthe unhealthy searon, will fortify the system against the atmospheric poison which generates these distempers.— This admirable invigorant—harmless, agreeable, and possessing Tarer medieinal virtues than any other tonic at prcBent known, will break up the paroxsysms of intermittent or remittent fcrcr in from forty-eight hours to ten days. Such is the universal testimony from districts where periodical fevers have been combatted with this powerful vegetable Chologoguc. In a thievish neighborhood wise men bar their doors add windows, yet strange say if the same neighborhood happens to be pervaded by serial poison they seldom take the trouble to put their bodies in a state of defence against the enemy. Ag". with experience? can be relied upon, and the Doctor can refer to many physicians throughout the country. In past success and present position be stands without a competitor. THE WRITINGS OF A PHYSICIAN WIIOSK
REPUTATION IS UNION-WIDE, ARE WORTH READING. Doctor Whittier publishes a Medical I'atnphet relating to Venereal Diseases ami the disastrous and varied consequences of sclfabusc, thiit will be sent to any address in a sealed envelope for two stamp*. It contains full symptom list* that will enable those affected to determine the nature of their complaint and give a written statement of their case that will answer almost as well for the purpose of treatment as a personal "interview: but wiicrc it is convenient the Doctor should be consulted personally. Those having friends that, may require advice, can supply them with this valuable work by senaing their address, with stamp. Thus yon can assist the unfortunates without their knowing their benefactor. Certainly 110 subject is of more importance than parity of olood and perfect manhood.
It is self-evident thnt a physician who eonfines himself exclusively to the study of a certain class of diseases and treats thousands of cases every year, must acquire greater skill ia that specialty than only general practise. Many physicians, recognizing this fact, introduce patients to the Do'-tor after reading his Medical Pamphlet. Communications confidential. A friendly talk will cost yon nothing.
