Asa Packer has telegraphed that he offers $2,500 to the bereaved, Gov. Geary $500. The Railroad Company makes all *xertionepossible, and the wishes of the miners iu ©very wjpact are consulted, but iliey remain obdurate. The more reasonable are ready to listen to reason, but they are in a minority, and many are refractory and vicious. Trouble is, apprehended and has been avoided only by consummate tact. i.

A minority report was presented by two of the committee and a substitute by Judge Miller, but after a lengthy debate which was at 'times sharp end often- personal, the minority report and the 'sub&titutd of Judge Miller were laid on the table, and the majority report as above adopted.

The Warrensburg coal mine at Carbon Hill, Mo., caught fire in the main shaft, on Monday last, while fifteen mei} vfere in the ityine. Seven of the men succeeded in getting out by clinging to the ropes of an ascending car, although they were badly burned. But tho remainder were forced to remain in the mine until the fire w*s extinguished, when they were rescued In a more or less injured condition. The foreman, J|r. A dispatch from Hays City, Kansas, says a large party consisting of the Ohio excursionists, Lord Watenpark and Lord Pugat, English noblemen, Generals StuTgis and Custar, and several other officers of the 7th Cavalry, and several ladies, left Custar's Camp yesterday morning on a buffalo hunt. In five hours the party killed 40 buffaloes, tha Englishmen each killing two- A large wager had been made by these gentlemen, with friends at hotas, that they would kill at least one buffato. J^kovrDiNCR, R. L, Sept ill—The' gwe last evenjng from 4 o'clopk to 6 o'clock Was the most severe ever known since 1855, when the city was partially submerged. Damage immense. Several lives were lost in this city. The Hartford Bail road depot was demolished, Base & Walker's tannery partially blown down, the Oriental mill unroofed and two' operatives badly hurt. The Chestnut street church eteeple was blown down, and nearly all other church steeples injured. Probably ten buildings unroofed, and fruit and shade trees destroyed.
The Bristol railroad will not be passable for several days. Many vessels ashore in Narrangansett and Mount Hope bays. A small new church on Narragansett Point was entirely demolished. Sloop Revolution went to pieoes in Wickford Harbor and two men lost. Octorian Bice was killed on his farm in Warwick.— Great, damage reported in Bristol, East Greenwich, Fall Biver and other places. .- ..
