"THE SUN SHINES FOR ALL," and in these red-hot days it mBy be of interest to know what it is made of. The spectroscope has taught us that the sun's atmosphere is totally unlike ours, containing bodies in the state of vapor, which, on our earth are solid. Among the most prominent of these constituents are sodium vapor and iron vapor. It is obvi ons from this that tbe old theo/y of Her sphel, which has unfortunately been repealed over and over again in our astronomical school books, and is to tbe effect, that the BUD is a dark, cold body, surrounded by a luminous phosphorescent atmosphere, is exploded. We now know that the sun is a hot, incandescent, molten mass, its temperature being so bigh that we can with difficulty form a conception of it.

COMMERCIAL COLLEGE.—We direct attention to tbe advertisement of tbe Terre Haute Commercial College and in doing so, commend it tuthe serious consideration of our young men. No young man's education is complete, nor is he fitted for any kind of business, trado or profession without a practical knowledge ,of bookkeeping. This institution, under tbe immediate supervision of the proprietors^ Messrs. Gavin & Owen, affords facilities equal to any in the west for practical instruction in book-keeping, penmanship, and arithmetic.

For the convenience of persons engaged in other pursuits during the day, a night term will be commenced one week from Monday next.

How TO USE PEACHES.—Peaches will soon be plentiful and cheap, and bow to use them economically will be a consideration to persons of limited means,

to it as the most comprehensive, novel and ,ibe South they mabe them into what elegant Menagerie and Circus ever seen I is called "peaeh leather," and people intbisStato. Unlike many exhibitions, here might do the same to advantage.

To the City of Terra Haute and vicinity: We have this day appointed S. F. J- a* STBAIN A BLBBKO.

In acceptance of the above agenoy, I would state for Uie benefit of all who have heretofore been using otheir qualities, which were generally accompanied by cheaper rates, say 12®li%c, tbat those qualities were very inferior to that whioh I now sCtr. particalarly that trom the "Otter OreeE ^oal Oempapy," or any bank with which than is ajdnraace connected, inasmach asao better than second or third rate, that which cannot be used for furnace porposes, ever sees the Terre Haute market, for whieh agents charge almost the same ratee at which much better can be furnished, These facte I can substantiate. If necessarf for convincing proof. I will, at all times, ape my bsst sadsavo/s to accommodate, both aa regards quality and quantity and pries, and trust by cloesraiUfctlott to aU ontert, to rcceive a liberal share of patronsgs.
