The Evening Telegraph yesterday contained an editorial on the case bf Haggerty, U. S. Consul, at Glasgow. After paying tribnte to the uniform good faith of the American Executive, so far as Fenian ism is concerned, justifies the refusal of the British Government to grant exequator. President Grant had no notion of the record of Mr. Haggerty, and undee the circumstances, the Government had no action, but to refute to acknowledge hhn. and the justice of the refusal (iaiihtlwr will be recognized at Washington.

The Harvard crew were out for practice last evening- They made faster time than at previous trials, though they rowed against wind and tide. Wallace will commence at Lexington and come north, another corps under W. C. Creeief cotq» mence at Walton Station on the Louisville shott line and proceed toward Lexington to meet the first named party. The route will pass by Georgetown, Scott Co., Williamsport, Qrant county, and is expsoted to ha 20 miles shorter than the Kmtucky Central. The survey will be completed in two months. Meantime the able engineer, Ernest Bupe, will make a tour of observation in Tennessee, commencing at Chattanooga. oouaonova.
