At all events, be was ready to move on the enemy's works at short notice when he was told, yesier jay noon, that the fellow had passed in through the hall and gone upstairs again Calling on Perry Huston, one of the clerks, to follow him, Mr. Buntin made nis up two fii*hu3 of stairs and, just as he reached the head of the secoi fl ght, saw tbe lady, who bid been perse cuied by Loveless on the previous day ming out of her room, pale and excited aiid followed by tbe above mentioned villain. As soon as he caught sight oi Mr. B. he attempted to eic»pe through another hall, but yielded to a stern de mand to bait, whereupon Mr. B. wrenched his cane from bis band, grasped him oy the collar, dragged him to the beadot tbe stairs, and hurled him headlong down Unfortunately the descending "scalawag caught the stair railing when part way down and ecme to a halt. And bow oomes Perry Huston and instantly seizos tbe culprit and "booms" him along down the rest of that flight, around to the lower flight, down that at a 2:40 pace, and in spite of his piteous howling, hurls him along through the crowded ball to tbe front door and ejected bim into the street with a force that carried him six feet beyond the pavement, wbere, gathering himself up, he "filed left" and moved att "In dole order" at "quick time.' On Wednesday the Terre Haute House was illuminated, a short time, with his imposing presence, and had he confined himself within tbe broad margin tbat expan^ between the gentleman and the -coanBrel, we should not be erg-ged writ'ng this item, on a very hot night *ntl lie Would have escaped a free adver tisenent.

Loveless had no room at the^Terre Haute House. Indeed, we believe he was not a patron of the establishment in any respect, but he began sneaking abi ut the building, and finally sneaked up into the third story and, in the most insolent man ner, undertook to force his society upoD lady in her own private apartment. The lady had never seen the scamp previously, and refused him admission, with an indignant remonstrance. She finally succeeded in frightening him away by etrat egy, but not until he had climbed up and looked in at the transom, declaring that ne "would come in anyhow."

ALMOST DAILT can be witnessed scenes of rejoicing at the "Buckeye" of customers over somo unexpected bargain, up thought of or unlooked fer at the time of entering the store, but attracted by the display of such, immediately after enter ing, which appear, to the right, to the left, in tact on all sides which, ever way one may turn, and marked in plain fig ures, and at such low prices too, that no one thinks of leaving without carrying home some one of the many articles dis played. W. S. Ryce 4 Co., are deter mined to be up to, if not ahead of the times, and have received some five car loads of all kinds of merchandise, bough because of the lowprteet which the dull times and the stringency in the money market has produced, Some of these goods have been purchased at one-half of tbeir real value, and which as aLive House they are selling at the same low prices, and attracting crowds as it does, notwithstanding the "heated term" pre. sents a lively appearance in the way of businest, carrying one back to war tjmes, when money was plenty. In refering to their change of advertisement this morn ing, tbe reader will be convinced at once that the "Buckeye" is alive, and that all making purchases there at the present time are getting more than value received in exchange for their money. jyl6dtf.
