THE RAILBOAD "WEST.—We believe it is positively determined to run the new railroad to St. Louis by way of Marshall, but as yet the route to the State line' has not been seleoted. A half dozen or more routes have been surveyed, and the engi-neers-have stakes driven nearly SH over Sugar Creek township, tunning through with a reckless disrogard to people's resP dences, door-yards, orchards and gardens Our Sugar Creek farmers are somewhat "toro up" in consequence.

The route is very practicable, and the road can bo built much cheaper on this route than otfj^nyither

Terre Haute should feel a deep interest in this road, and manifest it by substantial' laifffih building the connection from the E. & C. road to Clinton, about eight mll^.r ftyi people fi) ^e line expressed a desire to trade with this city if they had any means of getting hero at ail seasons of the year. VIOA AQBICULTUBAL FAIB.—The Premium List for the Fourth Annual Fair of the Yigo Agricultural Society is published and ready for distribution. It
This route will open up this rich country of farmers: draw trade from east and wfest, and have nothing to compete with 4t!for freight or passage, while the route through Newport would be more expensive, longer, through rough country, could jliaw freights from the west only, and have the river and canal to compete with inre-gird-te to-freights and passage.
It is thought that this line would bring more trade to Terre Haute than any other route, at present, projected. Our citisens should encourage the enterprise, and confer with the President and Directors of the proposed road, and compare the cost and other advantages of this route over tbte line via Newport.
The estimates, &o, aro now being made by Mr. Bailey at his office in this city, in the Metropolitan Block, where, persons interestoli^ofjl ojipa$' ajjydesired info'rmatfon. iThj President of this route is John
