From the New York Tribune.] One of those events whioh occasionally transpire to assert, in the most emphatic manner, the leveling spirit of the acje, occurred on Saturday in this city.— This was no less than the marriage of a Prince of the ancient and conservative UjBuae of Bourbon to the daughter of a Cuban merchant. The1 story—a most romantic one Is as follows

Some three or four years ago Mrs. Hamil. tha,. wife of av, well-known .mefchanC

in HaVani, left thatVity to place her daughter in a school in Paris. They stopped for ^Qme titne in this city, hav ing rooms at1 Delmonico's, and made many warm friends wherever they were -known.

The daughter, possessed of more

than ordinary accomplishments and personal charms, attracted much attention at&mg the best society of the gay Frenoh capital. She was received in the most exolusive circles, and it is Baid was a frequent guest at the* Imperial Court, Among the many distinguished gentlemen who paid her their court was Prince Louis de Bourbon, son of Louis, Count d'Aquilla, one of the chief mem bers of the Bourbon family.

The Prinoa proposed to her

We stopped at Cheyenne^ but not long enough to visit Mr. Cheyenne, the ven erable inventor of the plaoe. A few sta tions westward we stopped for dinner.— A singular practice hasi been introduced on the Paciflo road—that of ringing bell at the conclusion instead of'thecomf mencement of a repast As the hotels are unprovided with bells, those on the locomotive engines ate made to answer the purpose.

There was a sign on the tavern door, which read, "Bare Stake and dear meet for dinner." I swallowed a "bare stake' point foremost, and have been as stiff and as straight as a lightning rod ever since, I had no time for toe "dear meet,1 though she "bare" was a little on that order.

The engine uttered a war whoop and we plunged into the mountains, or rather among the mountains, found ourselves surrounded on ail sides by craggy peaks, impenetrable ravines, untutored savages, and beasts of prey.
