Indianapolis. Many of these ieases are for nine-nine years. But in the center of these lands is the antiquated tract of what we will call the Cloverland district for four^milea either distance north or south of Cloverland Station, and two miles in width. The best of block coal has been found four miles from the Station almost on its surface. Two of the best geologists in the State have given, as their opinion, this tract to be richer in iron, coal, lead sand for the purpose of making glass, fireclay and even stone China ,gave this opinion as the result of observations made for their owa benefits, unpaid for, specimens havlng been sent to Prof. Henry, of Washington, and Agassis, of Cambridge, tfcey agreeing in the main in their inves tlgations^ .PECULATORS have been all around' trying to buy and lease, have been foiled in getting this tract in-their hands, as the people are proverbially slow, and, I think, there has been luek in leisure,R IITOIL MENS speculators, miners and geologists have had but one voice in this matter, and in thoir efforts to hoodwink the people, for they felt their lime tad-AOT CWME. Not one effort will BE made till Terre Haute has had the first offer TO come and see, bring money and tore, and then they will have the influ*
ence of all around to help Terre Haute. One mite north of Cloverland Station ther» is

stream, never ftuling at any
