That night, near half-past Ufa ooiock, Irwin called at the Turbvyille House, saying "it was all ready." He answerea that "it was better to wait until the wa* ter had closed, as they could not petfom the work till then." Irwia answered, "come on, its all right, the police catch us don't let that d—d old heifer keep you from going."
Torbyville and Irwin went out afterward, and did not return until near two o'clock next morning. He eaid to his wife he "must look at his shirt to see if any blood got on it." He offered his wife and other women in the hoiMe, if they would not tell about his absence and conversation, $100, whioh they refused to take. Turbyville was heard to say that they had been smarter thh Mrs. Clem, having burned the body.
A resident of Stringtown, as he was returning home near ten o'clock, saw two men down by the river, but could not tell what they were doing. As he went on tow%rd his home he saw a hack standing near Prite's saloon, and as he approached it the driver attempted to drive away, and two men ran away from it across an open lot. All the facts point to another foul murder for money, but, so far, what disposition was made or the

The World says the inaugural shows too much confidence and self-sufficiency, lacks tbat grave and sustained propriety of expression befitting the Chief Magis trate, has no original ideas, and every, thing in tbe message which is not flat is erude, and it is a mere eqbo of the tritest common place of the Republican press.
The Tribune sayB the emphatic declaration of President Grant that we should pay our national debt to the uttermost farthing, is worth 90untlesB millions to the labor, commerce^and prosperity' of tbe Republic.

It says Grant will be the champion of the Monroe doctrine and direct his policy towards consolidating ahf^extending re* publican institutions upon the North Amerioan continent. It hopes to receive from General Grant a splendid administration. ^h0 Times s*ya the inaugural touches great wants, indicates great duties and propounds a great pOHey with a distinctness that leaves nothing in doubt, and the force of the born earnestness. Gen. Grant had something to say, and he has said it strongly and well. It says no one doubts that Ganeral Grant will aim to Uieet the just wishes and expectations of the Republican 'party, not by conceding to the demands of its individual members, but by promoting tbe welfare of the country, and building up its prosperity On the principles of tbe party, as the only principles on which it can safely and permanently.
