Bedford and Terre Haute Ra.i1road—The Company Organized.—A large meeting of the citizens of Lawrence connty was hold at Bedford' on Mondky night last for the purpose of organizing a company to assist in constructing, owning,and maintaining a railroad leading Ho Terre Haute, by way of Bloomfield) and terminating at Bedford, on the N.i, & C. R. R. Judge William Duncan was called to the chair, and A. D. Lemon chosen assistant Secretary. Speeches were mada by Messrs. E. D. Pearson, A. H. Dunihue, A. C. Voris, S. A. Earidan, A. B. Carlton, Davis Harrison, G. Wr Friedly and others, in favor of the early construction of the road, and the vast importance to the people of Lawrence county that Bedford should be one of the termini of the proposed road.

The following articles of association were adopted: Sec. 1. The'fcame of this asjocltttibn shall be the Bedford, Bloomfield and Terre Haute Railroad Company. The capital stock shall be one million of dollars, to consist of twenty thousand shares Of fifty dollars each. The affairs of said Company shall be managed by twentythree director?, vix: New Albany, J. B. Ford, C. Cannon and W. S. Culbertson •, Lawrence county, Jesse A. Mitchell, Wm. Duncan, Davis Harrison, A.»E. Voris, A. H. Dunihue, Robert Kelly, Wm. Ragsdale, J. W. Newland, A. B. Carlton, JB. D. Pearson, A. A. Malqtt, S. A. Raridan, Dedridge Short, Alex. H. Gainey and At. A. Malott Bloomfield, Mark H. Shryor, Wm. Mason, A. ,Q. Cravens Terre Haute, Charles Criift, Wm. £. Edyardsisnd R. W. Thompson.

Sec. IL The purpose of said company shall be to construct and maintain a railroad from Bedford, parsing through the 'county of Lawrence 15 miles, through the county of Greene 30 miles, through the county of Clay 10 miles, through tne county of Vigo 18 miles, making a distance of 73 miles, as near as may be.

As soon as $50,000 are subscribed the articles of association are to be filed in the office of the Seoretary of State.

A committee consisting of I. H. Thomas, Ambrose B. Carlton, A. H. Dunihue, M. A. Malott, Dr. Raridan, A. H. Gainey, Dp. W. Short, and Ari Armstrong was appointed to solicit funds to defray the expenses of a survey of the route, and the survey ordered to be made immediately.
