Myers & Co., of Cincinnati, one of the largest and among the most reliable houses in the trade East or West, disclosed the fact that the cheap candy was composed, in a large proportion, of Terra Alba, or white earth. A quantity was purchased and dissolved in water, whea the Terra Alba settled to the bottom1 and the swindle was disclosed. We published not long since a statement by Dr. Potter, of Boston, showing the deleterious effects of this ingredient when used in. the manufacture of candy.
