Terrb Haute Rolling Mill Nail Wares.—Few if any of ou zens, have any conception of the extent and importano of thie establishment which has grown eo suddenly to almost giant proportions, and still promises a continuous and rapid growth. The following fact^. will give some idea,of its business: It consumes four1 car loads, or fifty toils, of coal per day. Fifteen and half tons of iron and nearly two Ions of crude ore suffice, at present, for its' daily consumption. It gives employment to one hundred and twenty-five men, exclu sive of th® officers of the company. Ita twenty-four 'machines turn out fifteen hundred kegs of nails every week. .These nails are of every sizd and description Jcnown (exedpt t*ok& and railroad spikes) including boat epikes which are said to be the beet article of the kind in the mar ,ket:? The amount disbursed for! labor alons amounts to $2,000 per week1. The iron for each day's 6upply of the furnaces costs $800. The increasing demand for the products of these works requires them to be run on double time by two sets of hands. The first set work from fout a.m. to twelve m. The second set work from One p. M, to ten r. m. "Eight new -machines r..-willsoon ba added, increasing the jium lo thirty-two, when the works will be r*,*! abl®!

discharge their varied duties wi^h sucb
fidelity and zeal as furnish tbe strongest guaranty of continued success and Wbstantial prosperity. We expect to make ^further examination of the work^ in the course of a few days and hope to find, "many items of interest connecto| therewith. I .0

By. seven and a half o'clock, the crowd in and about tlie Square had attained immense proportions, and a happier, more sincerely exultant crowd, hns not been seen here"or (elsewhere, since the loyal masses mot in Ajfrll 1865, to thank God, and congratulate each-other over the surrender of the Deoiocratic ermies to the peerless sqldier who has again brought the sam^ tnen with their allies to another, and, let us hope, a final surrender.
AU felt that in electing Grant, in repudiating Seymour and the Tammasy platforto, the nation had decided for Peace and had averted War. They felt that the loyal people had chosen peace, prosperity, happiness and honor, and hnd escaped revolution with its limitless train of evils.. Believing, feeling thus how could they dp otherwise than rejoice They felt that the long prayed for era of good feeling was about to dawn that the hatred and malice engendered by the events of the last seven years must now subside that confidence, like a ray of heaven's light, must now glow on all the ramifications of trade, giving the poor man work, and go5d pay for his toil, bringing business to the merchant and making the hearts of all men glad.
The meeting was opened by music by Professor Tout's Baud. Hon. John G. Crain was tfao first speaker and occupied a tew, minutes to the manifest gratification of the vast audience. Col. W. Thompson followed in a stirring and eloquent speech of short duration snd was, in turn, followed by Hon. J. P. Usher in a few remarks exceedingly appropriate te the happy occasion. Col. T. H. Nelson had a fe(v? Words of good cheer, given in hts own inimitable vein, and Col. McLean responded to an urgent call with a brief speech, which was exceedingly well re ceived. At the conclusion of Col. Mc Lean's remarkB the intense jollification took on the form of song, and many of the patriotic airs whibh have befii io familiar use during the campaign were given in a style most emphatic if not artistic. jMuzzy's family Martial Band took the stand, and gave the crowd a taste of their quality.
