Patmore was quietly-, ut his work when he was approached by a man or boy supposed to have been drunk a word or two passed, and Patmore was endeavoring to get out of the way of the drunken person, when the latter drew a pistol and fired, the ball passing through the shoulder or arm, causing a painful but not serious wound, as no bones were frac tured.
