FAILURE.—The Journal

was half filled with screeches to the faith ful to turn out and hear a pair of orators at the Court House last night. The bell was rung at the usual hour, and that was the only indication of a meeting that waa apparent to hearing or sight. We apprehend the Democracy will turn out "lore promptly next Tuesday, ,,

TAEK WARNING.—We are reliably informed that a Democratic circular is being •sent arcund privately, among the faith-

ful,

upon them to labor incewantly

up to the evening of election, and urging them to preserve an appearance of demoralization, thereby throwing the Republicans off their guard. The result, they say, will be the complete succeta of rhe Democratic Ticket in the State. Will Republicans heed the warning?

HUGE LYING.—AS a fair sample of the stuff on which the Den&ocratic mind in this District delights to be fed, we will mention tbat the Bowling Green Aurora of this week goes to its readers wjth a whole poultry-yard full of roosters hoist ed over huge job type announcement of "great Democratic victories." One of these victories is in West Virginia, which every man of common intelligence knows has been swept clean by the Republican? Another is in "glorious little Delaware where the election has not occurred and will not occur until next Tuesday Verily, Democracy is a great institution

THE election of John T. Scott, Esq., to tBe Common Pleas Judgeship, will necessitate tbe appointment of a new county attorney, which position Mr. Scott bas filled for Borne time past. The Board of Commissioners will likely make an appointment at the December term of the court.—Journal.
