Blair and Arnold

The copperheads are in the habit of saying that Frank Blair Was a brave soldier, and that hs distingutBhod himself in the war—therefore, soldiers ought to voto for him. Benedict Arnold was as bravo a soldier as Frank Blair, and distinguishhim8elf for his ability and valor in the War of Independence. But he deserted the cause of the Union and joined the Tories, and opposed General Washington With all his might. His -betrayal of tbe Union cause was induced by personal considerations. Blair has also deserted the Union cause he has joined the Confederates and Copperheads, and wants to trample the laws of Congress into the dust, just as Arnold sought to do with the laws of the Continental Congress. General Grant bears the same ^relation to the War for the preservation ot the" Union that Washington did to the war for the establishment of tbe Union. Arnold turned against Wasbingtcn, under whom he fought, and Blair has turned against Grant, under whom he fought. But we notice that the Sentinel has not had a word to'say of the bold project of tho Democratic candidates in Noble county to get "some foreign help," in the shape of a sufficient number of railroad laborers from Michigan, to overcome the Republican majority in that county Did the fact that Mr. Edgerton was iui plicated in that wholesale attempt at ballot-box swindling havo any influenco in constraining it to silence?
