BRICK PoMEROT is to take the stump in Pennsylvania this w«ok. If there had been any reason to doubt ahaadsome Republican majority there in October, ibis would settle the mutter.
One Currency for All.
"We publish in this issue an article from the Gettysburg (Penn,) Slur and Sentinel, supposes to have been written by Hen. Et McPHERSOU, clerk of the House of Representatives, which shows conclusively, that tne Jaw providing for tha paynrstiH of interest on fivettwenty bouds in gold, v.'es voted for by all the Democratic members of the House of Representatives bat two, and ih&t but for their unanimity in favor of gold interest, we should have had "one currency for all."
It vlUbe observed that YOOP.HKES who is now traveling about the country howling for ''one currency," thon cast his vote for "gold for the bondholder" »nd '-Lincoln rags" for the people. So did HOLui.1T. another Democratic candidate for Congress, who now goes for the BRICK POMEKOY financial plan, and so, too, did PENDLETON, who not long before had compared greenbacks to CAIV, and described ihetn ft" "fugitives and vagabonds in the earth aud with them yoted the traitor VALLANDIOHAM who was worit to display his contempt for the ''1'ugitivos and vagabonds," by holding up to hid audience a twenty di 1 ar gold piece in one hand, and a soiled greenback in the other, as examples, respectively of the "good old Demccratic tiim*," and the era of "rag money" introduced by tlie LINCOLN administration.
Just at this lime when the long-afflict-ed anil very sick Democracy are suffering under the terrible "dispensation" from Main, McPHERSON'S article is somewhat cruel, but we recommend its general perusal by the invalids on the principles of Allopathic practice.
C'A MPAIGK JVO TEH.
A PRIVATE letter from a prominent citizen of Kentucky Bays: "The Union men of Kentucky look to the action of the Union men of Indiana in the coming election with the same intense feeiing of anxiety that they did during the war.— The patriotic manhood of your people was fully brought out then and we earnestly hope it may he as fully alive in tha political struggle now upon the country. Xue main points involved in the war are to be fought over in the coming election, and we, in Kentucky, devoutly pray for success, as nothing short of P. great Union victory will give us ponce anu quiet."
THE Republicans have won brilliant triumph in the Territorial election in Colorado. Denver, the Capital, which last year elected a Democratic Alayor, now gives Bradford (Rep.) for Congress •221 majority. As far as heard from Bradford was ahead by 500 majority, and the Chairman of tbe Republican Central Committee estimates his majority in the whole Territory at SOO to 1,000 At the last contest for Congress the vote waa as follows Republicun 4,458 Democratic 4.046
Majority 467 'ihat majority is now doubled The contest was animated, and each party did its love! best,'' but the Grant man came out f:n- ubeai, as will be the 0880 this fall in ail the eiec'tions. except in'Kentucky aid titer Kr. Klui-'ridden States.

The great peace current is sweeping over the country, and everywhere bringing the people sqaareiy up to the great 'lsi Peace or ar. Then comes Grant ar.d victory.
WK learn from an Eastern paper that there is but one Democratic voter iu Goshen, Addison county, Vermont, and he is shaky. This year be was advised to vote as usual, that they might have one Democratic vote to record, and ho replied:
Very well, I guess I will do so, but all h—I can't keep me from voting for Grant and Colfax in November" Hj? vAe

deposited for Edwards, while Page received eighty-four ballots, in the township, an increase of twenty-one.
AN" Irish Republican, residing near Boscobel, Wisconsin, says the jlpoeal, was recently waited on by several of his countrymen, who, in insulting language and threats of violence, demanded that he should discontinue taking the Irish Hepublic, which supports Grant and Colfax. He proposes, nevertheless, to take and read such papers as he chooses.
IN 1SC5 Andrew Johnson organized a bogus State Government, conferring a monopoly of the pleclivf francise 011 th« rebels. The people of the North have not forgotten the use thoso robels made (f their power. The black code which they onactwl practically re-eHiWished i-la very in the State. The tyranny thej oxercised over the colorod people was perfectly hellish. But they called it "carrying out the principles of constitutional liberty." Having voluntarily deprived themselves of the privilege of taking par in the entuing election, they are now wild with anger, because they cannot vote for Seymour and Blair, and a renewal of the
rebellion. THE Cincinnati Times is getting to be refreshingly frank. It thinks there is no use of any longer concealing from the Kuklux Democracy the fact that they are going, going, and will be gone further up Salt River than any party was ever before transported.
The naked cause of this great popular uprising for General Grant is found in thRt Democratic madness which forbids learning anything from the bloody experience of four years, which has proved utterly immedicable by adversity, and which now deliberately appeals to the people to countenance defiance of law, and to 6upport the grossest outrages ever perpetrated against human nature and the rights of a free people.
True Democracy being tilled up with the most ignorant of our population, have sadly mistaken the spirit of the American people, who are too intelligent to be very
so in led into another civil war. Southern secessionists played with the grossly ignorant mass of their own section, and declared the l*to civil war. Southern Democracy i3 now enrolling the same ignorant men, whom an opportunity has transiormed into demons, and Northern Demecracy is cc-opt-rating with them.
The intelligent majority see these facts, and are rallying for Grant, Liberty and Peace in overwhelming numbers.
IT IS gratifying to observe that the scurrilous abuse of General Grant and other leading Ropublieans with which some Democratic papers opened the campaign. has been partly checked by the discovery that it does not pay. Men of sense, like Mr. Pendleton, have sternly rebuked it, and have paid high tributes to the character of General Grant, and even tho lower clase of blackguards have been forced to see that their slanders recoil upon themselves,
Wi£ trust that our State Contral Com mittee will give the State a thorough overhauling, and have every man enrolled. Vermont and Maine were thus made jo increase their vote and it is thus we must work here. There is too much at stake. Carelessne is a crimo. Just de" feat the Secession part}' this time, and either they will go out of sight or ftbatv don their treasonable manoeuvres and swindling platforms. They will learn that for them, the war has indeed been a failure.
Tlie Joint Gubernatorial Debate. A dispatch to the Indianapolis Journal gives the following account of the second joint discussion between Gov. BAKER and Senator HENDRICKS which occurred at Peru on Monday
The second meeting between Governor Baker and Senator Hendricks to-day, at this place, was the occasion for one of the finest meetings ever held in this section of the State. The weather was as beautiful as could have been wished, and the attendance fully eight thousand. Prom tbe noise made when the distinguished gentlemen were introduced, the proportion of Republicans to Democrats was probably five to three.
vote aye, the rest nay- Had the bill become a law in that shape, there would have been butane currency for all.
The bill went to the Senate, whore it wan uinandod so as to mako these notes a legal tender for all demands duo to and from the United States, "except for interest upon bonds and note*?, .jfbich shall bo paid in coin."
Eebruary 29, the House voted on concurring in "this amendment making interest paynblo in coin, and it was concurred in yeas 88, nays 55. But two Democrats voted nay, Joseph Daily or Pennsylvania, and Thomas E, Nuell of Missouri, both ©f whom jvere war men. Every other Democrat present voted to concur in the Senate's amendment and to make the interest payable in coin. (See House Journal, 2d sess. 37th Cong. p. 332.
The Pennsylvania Democrats who so voted, were Ancona of Berks, Biddle of Philadelphia, Johnson of Northampton, Lehiuen of Philadelphia, nnd Wright of Luzerne.
Among tha Democrats of other States who voted to mako the interest payable in coin, wore English, of Connecticut Holman, Law, and Voorhees, ibf Indiana Coy, Noble, Nugen, Pendleton, and Yallandigham, of Ohio and Knapp, and Robinson, of Illinois.
There were forty-live affirmative Democratic and forty-three Republican votes. There were fifty-five Republican negative votes. The majority was but thirtythree. Had the Democracy divided, or nearly so, the proposition would have been defeated, and the opposite policy adopted. But they went solid for the gold interest, and it prevailed.
Now, their party is raisihg a cry about its injustice, after their Congressmen cast the decisive votes, by which it was adopted!
Co.ild dishonesty further go? Hol'J them to this record. "Whatever of unfairness exists is their fault But it is too late now to change it—after the

"We have statod the fact that the payment of interest on United States bonds in gold was forced upon the country by the voles of Democratic Representatives, of whom there were forty five. Their names are as follows

Hendrick Wright, of Pennsylvania The vote was upon concurring Senate amendment to the "Legal Tender Act, by which "greenbacks" were not be a tender for interest on United States bonds, which, it was provided, should be paid ingold. The issue was direct, upon this single question. The Republican vote was divided—43 being in favor and 55 against. THE FORTY-VIVE DEMOCRATS VOTED FOR IT. AND CARRIED IT. Had they divided equally, the measure would have been defeated, and all these years tbere would have been but "one currren cy for all."
Among the Republicans who voted against this amendmeut of the Senate and in favor of making "greenbacks" legal tender for all purposes," were Messrs. Babbitt, S. S. Blair Campbell Davis, Hale, Hickman, Killinger, Mc

portions of his argument was that based upon the two plans of taxation advocacated. He riddled the Democratic theory of equal and direct taxation with facts and figures. He has shown himself ready and expert debater, and while in Mr. Ilendricks he has a foarnan worthy of h'.i steel, he bas shown that bii steel a true Damascus blade.
We have examined, and found tha names of the persons whose votes settled that policy. Let us see who they are.
February 6, 1862, the House of Representatives, at Washington, passed a bill authorizing $150,000,000 of Treasury notes, and making them a "legal tender" for all debts and demands due to the United States, for all salaries, &c., due from the United States, and for all debts, public and private, within ine United States. It was an awful sickly show, but it was A breach of faith, and the Republicans determined to pay them for it. They set to work, and before one o'clock a procession of fighting Boys in Blue, of Grant and Colfax clubs, and of Tanners, got together, and, headed by the Wabash band, which came on the canal, with four hundred persons from that county, formed, reaching more than four squares of the main street. Tho Ifemocrats felt mean, and acted meaner.
