WASHIGTON, Aug. 22—Tbe Gent,?ft Land oificg has received from the Surveyor General at Denver, Colorado,. two ^contracts submitted for approval. One for survOTB in the vicinity ot the head waters of Bear and Boulder Creeks, and in the vicinity of Central and. Idaho Cities, including valuable mineral and timbered lands and the other for surveys in San Luia Valley, including a large number of American settlers on Sawatch Creek, and the Mexican town of Comejos and the Mexican settlements near the same. Thtse contracts have beon approved by the Commissioners.

FRACTIONAL CURRENCY.

Fractional currency receipts from the printing bureau for the week $460,500. United States notes shipped $1,000,000. National Bank notes issued $83,300. Amount in circulation $299,917,870. Fractional currency destroyed during the week $537,000.

AGRICULTURAL SCRIP.

The Commissioner of tho General Land office has transmitted to tbe Governor of Delaware 863 pioces of Agricultural College scrip, issued under the act of Congress approved July 2d, 1862, and its supplements. The said scrip embraces 90,000 acres, being the full quota to which the State is entitled under the law.

INDIAN AFFAIRS.

Secretary Schcfleld received a dispatch to-day from Gen. Sherman, dated Omaha, August 20th, in which he announces that he had just received a dispatch from Gen. Sheridan, in which he confirmed the press dispatches ubout the Indian outrages.— Gen. Sheridan says the outrages are too horrible to detail.

Gen. Shorman ordered Gen. Sheridan to continue the pursuit, and drive the savages from that section of the country, and when captured to give them summary punishment.

The Secretary of War communicated the intelligence to the President, who ao quiesced in the stringent measures with which the Secretary of War and General Sherman woro taking in the matter,

The Commissioner of the General Land Office in making up his annual statistics for tho fiscal 3 ear ending June 30tb, 1868, has ascertained that 3,776 bounty land warrants for military service havo beon satisfied by location, covering an aggregate of over 512,000 acres of land.

Tho lands thus taken were generally by actual settlers in Missouri, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas, Nebraka and the torri tory of Washington, Dakota and Cnlora dO. -GAUGBRfl.--

The following resolution was adopted by acclamation: Resolved, That tbe thanks of this meeting be tendered to the gentlemen who -addressed lie* and to the members of the local Legislature who have favored us with their presence this evening, and that the meeting express their firm determination to accept of no compromise, but to maintain an unceasing struggle for the purpose of freeing Nova Scotia from the domination of Canada.
