TERSE HAUTE, IND.,

July 27th 18G8.

Editors Express:—SIRS —I see by tho Express of this date in your published proceedings of the Working Men's meeting, hold at the Old Court House, Saturday evening, that my name was put on a Committee consisting of five persons, to take into consideration tho propriety of getting up a Working Mon's ticket.

I must respectfully decline to take any part, whatever, at the present time, with an other than the Democratic partv. I have been a candidate for the office of Sheriff of Yigo county before the Democratic Nominating Convention, and was thero defeated for the nomination. I pledged my word to support its nominees, and I will do so, shall I live till tho 2d Tuesday of October next.

My opinion is, that the time has passed to get up a third party ticket, in order to have it successful at tho next October's election. At a future time, if there is a Working Men's party gotten up in our County, 1 will be happy to do all in my power to make it a triumphant party.

Yours, very Respectfully, MARTIN GPACE.
