Death of Gen. Kit Carson, There were few who read without a thrill of interest and a regret the lately telegraph announcement of the death of the long famous Kit Carson. He was a historic personage when tha most of tho adults of the present generation were children, and his name and heroic career |will be remembered while the annals of the Qreat West endure. WALTHAM

WATCHES.

THE BESTI |THE CHEAPEST!

The extensive nae of thoae Watches by Bailway Conductors, Engineer., and Expressmen, the most exacting class of watch-wearer., ha. thoroughly demonstrated the strength, steadlnees,'durability and accuracy of the Waltham IKatch. Te sati.fy that class in all theee respect, is to decide the question as to the real value of those timekeepers.

More than 300,000 are .peaking for themselves in the pockets of the people. Imported Watches are made en an expensive .yitem, inbmall number., but by numerou. makers, and are placed in the market here by an Importer who first secures a MONOPOLY OF SALE OT SOME ONE HAND-

TAOTUBE.

To the Manufacturer's profit mist be added Oestof Importation. A Custom-house duty of 26 per cent, payable in Gold.

A profit of at least 26 per cent, to tbe Importer, another profit to the jobber thus nearly doubling the co.t of the imported watch.

At Waltham. Watches are manufactured on a arge scale, under one roof and system of superislon and management, thereby saving many of he expense, necessarily incurred in small estabishments hence their great cheapnes*.

All respectable dealers now .ell Waltham Watches and competition, aa all tho world knows, is favorable to small profits. The trade i. satisfled, because, though the profit on each watch is small, the demand i. large and all are saleable.

Unsarnpulous importer, occasionally place a worthless Swiss imitation ia the market. To avoid impoiition, the purchaser should ln variably demand a certificate of genuineness, signed by tbe treasurer of the American Watch Company—B.

BOBBINS.

There are different grades of finish in tho dlQej.ont varieties of Watches made by the Waltham Company, as ther aro different slees and shape, to Bait all tastes and means but every Watch, that boars the genuine trade mark of "WALTHAM" Is guarranteed to be a good one, and nobody need be afraid to buy It. Every Watch Fully Warraitted.

For 'sale by afl first-class dealers In the 'IThlted State and British Provinces.

The Doctor's opportunities in hospital and private practice are unsurpassed in St. Louis or any other city. Back flies of St. Louis papers prove that he has been located there longer by years than any other so advertising. The establishment, library, laboratory and appointments are unrivalled in the West, unrivalled anywhere. Age, with experience, can be relied upon, and the Doctor can refer to many physicians throughout the country. In past success and present position ho stands without a competitor. The Writings of a Physician whose Be»ata* tlon is tnlon-wlte, shoal be worth Beading.

Doctor Whittieu publishes a Medical Pamphlet relating to Venereal Diseases and the disastrous and varied consequences of self-abuse, that will be sent to any address in a sealed envelope for two stamps. It contains full symptom lists that will enable those affected to determine the nature of their complaint and give a written statement of their case that will answer almost as well for tbe purpose of treatment aa a personal interview but where it is couxeulent, the Doctor should be consulted personally. Those hevlug friends that may require advice, can supply them with this valuable work by sending their address, with stamp. Thus you can assist the unfortunate without their knowing their benefactor. Certainly no subject is of more importance than puaity of blood and perfect manhood.

It is self-evident that a physician who confines qimself exclusively to the study of a cer tain class of diseases and treata thousands of cases every year, must acquire greater skill in that specialty than one iu general practice.— Many physicians, recognising this fact, introduce patients to the Doctor after reading his Mttlical Pamphlet. Communications confide tial. A friendly talk will eost you nothing. Office central, yet retired—No. 617 St. Charles asreet, St. Louis, Mo. Houra, 9

PILLS,

celebrated many years ago

in Paris, for the relief of female irregularties, and so notorious tor tholr criminal employment in the praotlce of abortion, are now offered for sale for the first time In America. They have been kept in comparative obscurity, from tbe fact that the originator Dr. Velpeau, 1s a physician in Paris, of great wealth and strict oonscientious principles, and has withheld them from general use, lest they should be employed for unlawful purposes. In overcoming female obstructions, they seem to be truly omnipotent, bursting open the flood gates from whatever cause may have stopped them but they are offerel to tbe public only for legitimate use, and all agents are forbidden to sell them wheu it is understood that the object Is unlawful.

Ladles can pocured a box, sealed from the ey of the curions, by enclosing one dollar, and six postage stamps to M, W, MACOMBER, General Agont for the United States and Canadas, at Albany, N. Y., or to any authorized Agent. Sold Dy all Druggists in Tarro Haute. o7dwly
