People crowded the dopot on Friday afternoon to catch a glimpse of Ristori, who was there with intent to take the New Haven train. All were eager to see her off the stage "but while noting with curiosity the gay attire of many of the company, no one took any notice of a plainly dressed lady, rather advanced in life, who sat upon her portmanteau on the platform, her head resting on her hand, and wearing a tired and nervous expression. WATCHES.
THE BEST! (THE CHEAPEST!
Tho extensive use of these Watches by Railway Conductors, Engineers, and Expressmen, the most exacting clads of watch-wearera, has thoroughly demonstrated the strength, steadiness,^durability and accuracy of the Waltham TPatch. Te satisfy that class in all these respects ia to decide the question as to the real value of these timekeepers.
1
f,
Two of the most popular monthly magazines are to be consolidated. A Baltimore Grand Jury has indicated the lottery syatem as a "frenzy."
Moro than 300,000 are speaking for themtelres in the pockets of the people. Imported Watches are made an an expensive syrtem, in small numbers, but by numerous makers, and are placed in the market here by an Importer who first secures a MONOPOLY OF SALE OF SOME ONE MANU
FACTUBE.
To the Manufacturer's profit mast be added Cestof Importation. A Costom-house duty of 25 per cent, payable in Gold.
A profit of at least 25 per cont. to the Importer, another profit to the jobber thus nearly tioubiing the cost of the imported watch.
At
wUtbam,
Watches are manufactured on a
arge scale, nnder one roof and system of superision and management, thereby saving many of he expenses necessarily incurred ia small estabishments henoe their great cheapness.
All respectable dealers now sell Waltham Watches and competition, as all tho world knows, is favorable t* small profit!. The trade is satisfied, because, though the profit on eaoh watch is small, tho demand is large and all are saleable. (JnserupuloDs importers occasionally place a worthless Swiss imitation in the market. To avoid Imposition, the purchaser should invariably demand a certificate of genuineness, signed by the treasurer of the American Watch Company—B. E. BOBBINS.
There are different grades of finish in the dlffet ent varieties of Watchas madd by the Waltham Company, as ther are different sizes and shapes to suit all tastes add moans but every Watch that bears the genuine trade mark of "WALTHAM" is guarranteed to be a good one, and nobody neoil be afraid to buy it. Every "Watcli Fully Warranted.
