Saturday last, tho wife of Mr. N. G. Throckmorton, living near Romney, having drawn a bucket of water from the well went into the house, lg&.»ing two children, one three, the other about five years old, playing in the yard. In a-few moments after, the older child came cryiDg into tbe houso and told its mother that the other had fallen into the well.—* Instantly the mother rushed out, and at once realizing the necessity of tbe case,' sprang into tne open well. The distance to the water was at least fifteen feet, and the water more thau ten feet deep.— Grasping her child, the brave mother clung to the side of the well, and still reclaming her presence of mind, told her little boy to go for bis lather who was at work more than half a mile from the house. In about fifteen minutes, which1 must have seemed hours, the welcome aa-, siatance came, and mother and child were rescued unhurt. lb the Editor of the Evening Telegraph: Dear Sir,—For
five or six years I have
been afflicted with dyspepsia in its most severe foRn. I have been treated for it by some of the most siblo physicians in Montreal. From time to time I placed thyself under their treatment, and after ining an enormous quantity of medicine, felt myself only growing worse. My disease increased, appetite failed, was troubled with a sensation of pain, weight and fullness at the epigrastrium, costiveness became depressing, my spirits grew low, causing great dejection. I tried all kinds of advertised remedies to no purpose. My hopes of recovery began to fail, •hen at last 1 concluded to try Professor
new method of cure. I am
now a little over two months under the Professor's treatment, and am happy to say lhat I feel like anew man i^ain, relieved of my distress, and enjoying life as in days gone by.

Young Men1
Who may be suffering from the effects ot youthful follies or indiscretions will do well to avail themselvesof this, the greatest boon ever laid at tne altar of suffering humanity. Dr. S. will guarantee to forfeit one hundred dollars for every ca:e of seminal weakness, or private disease of any kind or character which he undertakes and fails to cure. He would therefore say to the unfortunate sufferers who may read this notice, that you are treading upon dangerous ground when yon longer delay in seeking the proper remedy for your complaint you may be in tbe first stage remember you are approaching tbe last if you are bordering upon the last, and suffering some or all its ill efiects, remember if you obstinately persist in procrastination, the time must come when the most skillful physician can render you no assistance, when the door of hope will be closed against you when no angel of mercy can bring you relief. In no case has tbe Doctor failed of success. Then let not despair work itself upon your imagi' nation, but avail yourself of the beneficial results of bis treatment before your case is beyond the reach of medical skill, or before grim death hurries you to a premature grave.

:v Caution to the Public, ...
Every intelligent and thinking person must know that remedies handed oat for general use should have their efflacjr established by well tested experience in tbe hands of a regularly educated physician, whose preparatory studies fit him for all the duties be must fulfill yet the oountry is flooded with poor nostrums and curealls, purporting to be the best in the world, which are not only useless, but always in* jurious. The unfortunate should be particular in selecting his physician, as it is a humentable yet incontrovertible iact, that many patints are made miserable with ruined constitutions by mal-treatment from inexperienced physicians in general experience. The experienced general practioner, having neither opportunity nor time to make himself acquainted with their pathology, commonly pursues one system of treatment, in most cases making an indhorinate use of that antiquated and dangerous weapon, Mercury.
