V$. post, Saperintendent ^a¥Ue ttS^«® yeB stractibn, on the occasion of a recent call, asked us to direct attention to the importance attached to the care of the tchoo? property of the State. The official reporta in the office ot Public Instruction •how ithat the estimated value of t^tia pioperty was, in September, llefe, $4,515,. 734. The last number jof the Indiana School Jdbldal" cohtaih& a good hi^t-otf this subject: ", "A good iababtf fom tU tkraS^jtlcsa fll this property is found in me inculcation of a raoper public sentiment. If a generation of children be trained through their whole school life to preserve school property, there is reason to hope that such training will inculcate proper sediments concerning public property in general.—
In maintenance of the above position, we have but to notice the vandalism exhibited in the abuse and destruction of public property in all parts of the country. Defllod State Houses, daubed and smear* ed Court Houses, scratched, hacked, and battered school bouses all attest this.— Sometimes even the church,' temple of the living God, as it is, is made to bear testimony to the same.''
The 10th section of the School Law|of 1866 expressly provkfaa tffaftt the ci£e and management of this property belongs to School and Township Trustees. -Gfreat attention to this subject is imperatively demanded. G15A

We are under obligations to Ur..John W#fr, President of our County Board, who returned last evening, for a copy of thp. The'rare productions of the soil, the geniou^ of our artisans, -Mfttufacturers and inventors, were gathered from nearly every county in the State, and the exhibition surpassed, in extent aftd variety of articles, any previous fair ever held our Board.
