SAM CABT is a radical Republican elect* ed from a district in Cincinnati by thd Democrats. He made a speech last Saturday night in Pittsburg in which he d«mands the issue of more greenbacks, and that eight hours labor shall be considered a day's work. Baict PoHJSBOY'a paper, the La Crowe Democrat, has become the leading organ of the Democratic party in the West, eclipses both the Chisago Timet and Cincinnati Ettfmrct*, as a representative paper of the party of repudiation. JUBSI MCDONALD, United States Sis trict Judge, at Indianapolis^ has rendered a decision in bankruptcy of some Import ance to the legal fraternity, at least. The Judge decided, after an elaborate discussion of tbe Bankrupt law, "that when judgment has been bona fldt rendered against a debtor, and a fieri faeit has been duly issued thereon and delivered to the propei Sheriff, before the debtor is adudged a bankrupt, the Sheriff may, after such adjudication, levy en the bankrupt's property and sell it to satisfy the execution."
THB presenoe of General Haaeoek very much needed in New Orleans, as the financial and monetary affairs of the city are in a deplorable condition. The distress may be imagined, when it is stated that the eurrency In use is composed principally of issues by the city of New Orleans, the discount upon whieh varies from three per cent, upon small notes, up to seventeen, whieh is asked for large ones. As this discount is upon the value in United States eurrency, whieh is at a discount as compared to gold, the eonrasion must be great. Add to this the diffi* cnlty about prices, which must be governed by a sliding scale, depending upon the denomination of the note offered in payment, and some idea of the deplorable condition of business may be formed. General Hancock will be a wise man if he able to find a remedy for this evil, and can scarcely be expected that he will be able to do so, unless by a decree that the city shall no longer have the properties of money, an ordor, whioh it may be presumed, would be difficult to put in operation.
