The people who own property in that portion of Terre Haute, and who live upon it in the main, have a high claim upon tbe for this protection. Many years ago,city v/ben the railroad was first constructed, scores of families were located

increased in population from that time till the present. It forms one of the most populous portions of the city,and improvements are now progressing rapidly.. Defective natural drainage is all that stands in the way of its continued growth, and this can be obviated by the pl^pjfc df the City Engineer.
