Look TO Tbz Bkgibtbt.—It is appar. ent that the Registry Lists are imperfect. The names of many of the oldest citizens have been omitted. These omissions must be corrected before election day, or much delay ^ind trouble will be experienced in polling die full vote of the city. We suggest that voters examine the lists carefully, and if tbeir own or the names of their friends have been omitted, see that tbey are placed on the Begister before the day of election. Some trouble must be .anticipated in preparing and perfecting the first registry of voters, We hope however, that the names will be so enrolled and arranged that no difficulty will .be experienced in polling a lull vote.

Since that time, however, the democratic party have become so infatuated with this species of currency that they now want it issued in quantities sufficient to pay off the entire national debt. We are having unprecedentedly hot weather for the last dnva of September— that is during the middle of the day—but the nights and. mornings are strongly suggestive of fires, thick clothing, flannels and blankets. In view of the effeets which theso changes will produce, especially at this season of thtf year, when vegetation is everywhere decaying and the air Is filled with malaria, we think we can not better serve our readers than by placing before them tbe following remarks by Dr. Buchanan, «f the Louisville Evtuiag Standard: '•It Is now the autumnal season. Tho fading but brilliant hue of the leaf, a it begins to wither and fall, gives a beauty to the American landscape which no other country so fully enjoys. But it is like a heotic flush on the cheek of nature, the beautiful sign of dissaso, decay and death, not merely to the leaf but to the race of man. "The withering deeay of the vegetable kingdom extends its influence to man, and every decaying leaf contributes its lUtle quota to tbe vast amount of maliria that fills the aatumnal atmosphere. "The fall is therefore the sickly season of our country. The vast amount vf ma laria given forth from decaying vegeta tion infeots the atmosphere everywhere and there is a feverish tendoncy in the constitution of almost everybody against which w£-2UJSt guard. "The feverish tendency arising from malaria is disposed to display itsolf in most cases at first by a chill, and any exposure to the ohilly morning air with inadequate clothing may bring ou an attack. In many eases a little extra warm clothing in the morning or at night has warded off an attack of fever. So at night when we go to rest with the windows open, unless we have blankets convenient on the bed, it often happens that we are thoroughly chilled before morning and lay the foundation for an attack of fever. "Whenever this happens we should immediately throw aside the shoets and wrap up in blankets alone then lie in the blankets until a warm glow or gentle prespiration is restored, and oontmuein this condition for an hour or two. "As soon as the mornings become comfortably cool, it will be a great saving of health atd comfort to have fire before breakfast. It is very poor economy to leave off fires until we are compelled to start thttn. Saving ten cenU worth of fuel sometimes cost twenty dollars in doctors' bills. "Those who are not aecustomed to tbe use of milk, should be cautious as to indulging in that liquid at this season, as it is of a feverish tendency. Melons and bowels, at popular-prices imperfectly ripened fruit should be used with great caution, but ceoked fruit is entirely wholesome. '-Salt, vinegar and pepper should be
