oners, Lynch, Rev. MeMahan, Quinn,

statement of the public debt will not make

as favorable an exhibit as the proceeding

ones.

With regard to contraction of the four

millions, the Secretary will not publish it

this month, owing to the heavy demands on.the Treasury.

whoreas it it necessary that peace and

Sr. Louis, Feb. 4.—The dispatch from

Junction City, Kansas, dated January,

31st, soying that point would be the ter­

mination of the Union Pacific Railroad,

during the comiilg Summer seems to have

conveyed a wrong impression in.regard

to the actual condition of that road road.

The dispatch simply meant that Junction

City would be the outer point on the road

from which Weighting to Colorado and

New Mexico would—be -done this season.
