OUR foreign news indicates that a rupture between Greece and Turkey is inev£v!:T.: itable.

A SERIKS of colliery explosions have occurred in England, resulting, in a terriblo loss of life.

THE Mexican news is as unintelligible as ever. General Lew "Wallace figures with Juarez to a very limited extent. 1

THE steamer Tasmania Hag afrivetl" at Southampton from the West Indies, with yellow fever aboard. Out of ninety-six cases, only two deaths occurred.

MB.

Sc&UNTORT, Bresidfcnt of the New Haven Railroad, was killed Saturday. H$ slipped from tba platform of the cars and the wheels run over his body, causing almost instant death.

IDAHO news states that a memorial to Congresa for« division of that Territory will probably pass the Legislature. "The name of the new territory will be Col urn--bia, in case the division is effected. r-—ji i|« j.—irSLA

THE great Ocean yacht race is concluded, the Henrietta being the winner.— Ninety thousand dollars was the prize. The event has caused some excitement in France and England.

OUR dispatches give a few of the particulars of the massacre by the Indians of a company of ninety soldiers near Fort Kearney. The Government should let Mexico alone long enough at least to'whip out the Indians, who are murdoriug-o^r western pitfTieers and soldiers. ,•

THK Irish corre^ondei^, of an Eastern paper, writing from Dublin undor date of the 8„th inst-i says: "On JaijMS Stephens it depends whether or riot,- before this flionth rolls away into the irrecoverable, pi^, Irish insurgents and tb soldiery 91 England are to' meet in deadly'conflict'on~the soil of Ireland."

This month has almost expired and tho prospect of a Fenian uprising seems distant and obscure. It will be woll tor Ireland if there should be no conflict of wmn upon its soil. The decisive battle to be foughtlffi±WQnv?ttL)jH.po litical.szzr:

A Savammab conespondent says: "It would bp ^M»t as easy to get a jury in the N artlrAikji&fri^L afjeraohof manalaughtor for sMMit^ T&a^ifeV as to' get trjtiry of rebels to ilnd a rebel guilty upon a charge of killing a negro." This is strong languago,.bfatiSt i8 borcfly stronger than facts from nil parts of the South would seem to demand. The cofcdition of the negro was never worse, than it is.to-day. -JH-f jffould be better off in slavery than under the operation of "My Policy." But the time is not far off when in theSouth^as well at in thel?or&, ^he civil equality a^irfen will be recognized.

THE New York World says: "Wool«£rowing in the Unit*d dtatfes has suffered or proposed exactly as duties have be6n high or fowl"

Precisely so- Manufacturers will ^pay for domestic wtol just what, neither more nor less, it costs to get the foreign H'ticle of the same grade. They, like all tmjflrsi patronize the market which it is-for thtfc interest to. What the World says bsfl been the case formerly must always continue to be. If this is not the intended meaning of the World it is certainly the only one ^arranged by facts. If the importers and foreign capitalists could havo their way, American wookgrowing would be a ruined business.

ThW® of tHto letters wfltwritje^ byjhe venerable exPresident and. ex.-Xictator of Mexico to Mr' Switrd, trfie Iris nephew to the same, and four of them by Mr.. Reward himself only one, however, is addressed to Santa Anna. What was the latter's object in coming to this country] is left entirety "covered. The wily old man professed. in his letter to the secretary of State, warm sympathy with the Liberals, and that his only ofcjtot .was to succor Juarez but the latter warned .Mr. Seward against trusting him. It is is quite possible that 'Don Antonio Lopez do Santa Anna.—as he sighs himself, is really trying to regain the Presidential office which popular disaffection i-oYnpetted him, H555, to abdicate —it is highly probable that Juarez is afraid'rif it.

THE Paris correspondent of a New YotJCpape? says

moro of a muddle to us hero than to even ynu ^Wseelffs that the Emperor, who maintains a strict survpillance over the press, does all h6' chn to keep the French in i^iiorancb'tipon tho subject. No wonder, for as another correspondent says: *atS misfortunes now coming home to roost, this ill-hatch&d Mexican bird-is ,of- avilest omen evil continually.
