Don't Put off Your Christmas Shopping
In former years customers have been urged to shop early ior Christmas purely as a matter of convenience to themselves and to the many store employees, Mr hose time and sei vices were severely imposed upon.
This year, however, there is another and stronger incentive for early shopping that will appeal forcefully to all patriotic Americans.
Delivery men and spies women cannot be spared from essential industries to increase the number of store workers usually needed at holiday time, .Also, consumption of fuel for heat and light must be kept at a minimum.
The Council of National Defense, accordingly, insists that stores ithroughout the country shall employ no extra salespeople at Christmas time, and that normal business hours shall be maintained at all times.
Merchants are gladly pre pat' ing to meet the war-time situation, and a great part of the buying public is already showing its willingness to comply by making Christmas selections in all parts of the store.
