County Institute Will Be Held At H. S. Building During Chautauqua Week.
By Special Correspondent. RUCKVILLIS, Ind., Aug. 4.—^The Parke county teachers' institute will begin Monday evening at the high school auditorium under the supervision of 'Superintendent Jollieff, with Superintendent Liec- Driver, of Winchester, Ind., and Miss Harriett E. Cook, of Washington, Ind., as regular instructors.
Special lectures will be given by Dean McCutcheon, of DePauw, on "Community Music and the War State Superintendent Ellis on "Common Schiils, the Hope of Our Country Prof. J. B. Thomas, of Danville Normal, on "The Teaching of Geography Parke County Agent B. P.. Adams, on "The Teaching of Farm Crops." Wednesday is trustees' day. The teachers will attend the Chautauqua in the afternoons,

Charles Beplay, new manager of the Berland shoe store in the Trust building, left Saturday for a two weeks' business trip to the shoe markets of New York and Boston. RIOTERS IN DRAFT WAR

Late today the members of the various posses returned to their homes, lea\'ing sheriffs and their deputies to round up the individual members and small groups of rioters. Ten alleged members of the mob were being held at Ada and authorities expected to add that many more during the night.
At Wewoka, forty-two illeged rioters were under arrest. Sheriffs' deputies were still scouring the river bottoms for members o fthe mob.
Ringleaders Taken.
Authorities at Holdenville had made 21 arrests, including that of J. T. Crane, one of the alleged ringleaders. Crane was carrying a high powered riile and 300 rounds of ammunition when taken. Authorities at Okmulgee said they had made no arrests of alleged rioters. "Speedy action on the part of the authorities and citizens of the counties threatened to put an end to the demonstration," County Prosecutor Bullock, of Ada, said tonight. "I do not anticipate any further trouble. The agitators learned that the Kood citizens were ready for them."

RICHMOy, Va.,' Aug. 4.—Resentment againsT the federal draft—brewing in outlying sections since enactment of the conscription Ia»w—tonight had broken forth in threatened demonstrations at. several points through the south. Farmers in southern Georgia— inflamed by anti-draft propaganda of radicals—had armed heavily, and, though under closest scrutiny of federal agents, were believed to be organizing for concerted resistance on Monday, exemption day.
Trouble in South.
DURHAM, N. C., Aug. 4.—Antidraft sentiment in Chatham county reached a serious stage tonight following ajrrest of S. W. Burns, prominent young farmer, charged with raising funds to fight conscription. He was later released under $5,000 bond for trial Thursday at Sanford.

WANTS DOG CURBED.
Micheal Gibbons was arrested Saturday afternoon and sent to jail charged with violating a city ordinance by harboring a vicious dog. The charges were preferred in a warrant sworn out by Logan Hoopingarner, wbo alleged the dog bit- him.

The recruiting tent on the postofflce lawn, in charge of Sergeant James Lomax, has been busy recruiting during the past few days and Saturday sent a party of 20 men to Jefiersonville, who had been enlisted for service in the Second Indiana regiment.
