CUP TOO HEAVY FOR THIEF.

Man Charged With Stealing Trophies Said It Impeded Him. NEW TORK, .Aug. 4.—A silver loving cup which was presented to Larry Waterbury, captain of the Meadow Brook Hunt club polo team after the international match of 1913, was discarded as too heavy by a thief who forced his way into the Meeting House, a club at 139 East Forty-Fifth street. With other trophies from the club, it was found in a heap of rubbish In the back yard.

Clyde Woolsey, an employe of the club, who was seen climbing over a fence into Lexington avenue with a suitcase and a bag. was arrested. He carried as luggage, the pole® say, 153 pieces of silver and gold ware.

In the Yorkvllle police court Woolsey admitted that the cup and other property exhibited by the police had been taken by him from the club. Magistrate Ten Eyck held him In $1,500 bail for the grand jury on a charge of grand larceny.
