Terre Haute has been conspicuously honored through Company B. This organization has an eminently fine record In state national guard history. It Was one of the first companies in the country to be called for service in Mexico, and when the present war Clouds gathered Company was one Of the first units mobilized and held in feadiness for service.

What Is ahead for Company B, no ®ne knows. These Terre Haute lads fciay be in the French trenches by 'Spring. This is most probable, considering their training and efficiency.

Of those who go out of this, their native city, on Friday morning, none will know the hoar of their return, none Will know what will Intervene between their giving their all for their country fcnd the termination of the crisis which Itas called for this sacrifice.

The stores should close for an hour, the school children should be rallied, the departure of these troopers should be marked by a popular outpouring. Company B's leaving is the biggest lesion in patriotism this town has had in the present war, and its

If, however, he enters the service without preparation, the unavoidable necessities of camp life will be a burden to him. A few rods of marching at double quick will make his head swim and a little digging will be more than his flesh can bear-

These troubles will, of course, soon disappear, but in the meantime the men who entered the service in good shape physically will have an immense advantage over those who do not. AMERICANS AND OTHERS.

A Tribune reader in a communica tion to this paper Inquires "How can this nation hope to be successful »in the war when we have within our borders 20,000,000 alien enemies who are night and day plotting against the successful prosecution of the war with plots, dynamite and seditious utterances?"

Those who imagine this country to be overrun with natives of foreign •countries with which we are on unfriendly terms should glance at the figures- According to the director of the census, there are only 4,662,000 natives of enemy countries now residing in the United States, or a little more' than 4 per cent of the entire population. Of these 2,349,000 are Germais,, 1,3776,000 Austrians, 738,000 Hungarians, 188,000 .Turks and 11,000 Bulgarians. And it is safe to say a large majority of them are Americans In feeling and sympathies.

NEW BANK CUSTOMERS.

The old Joke about woman's titter and complete inability to understand banking affairs is getting considerable of a wallop in these latter times. Go into a Terre Haute bank at any time and you'll find that the percentage of

wonderful women doing business there is a large

one. The old blue sugar bowl oh the kitchen shelf is no longer an accepted safety deposit box. It has vanished with the woman who "couldn't posSibly understand why her account was overdrawn, when she had so many %nk checks left."

In fact, so Important is the matter of women's accounts that a Chicago bank maintains a woman's board, organized especially to look after thjs branch of the business-

Texas has a unique organization which shows the expansion of the club idea into an association of women making a special study of banking methods.

In 3 report issued recently by one of the officers the history of the organization is told. "The Women's Bankers association was formed in 1912," she says, "by a number of women inter-

Answer: Get from a well-stocked pharmacy a sealed tube of three-prrain eadomene tablets .which are especially msde for those needing a strong, harmless, rejuvenating: tonic. Astonishing and pleasing results follow and llie and hope are renewed.

"F.ssov" writes: "What should I do to relieve a ssvere case of kidney and bladder disease Urine is dark, foiil of odor, and passage in irregular, painful, etc. Have depression, fever, chills', pains like rheumatism, and soreness in rejdon of bladder."

Answer: For puch symptoms as you describe I proscribed my favorite formula unr'er the name of balmwort tablets. This is a splendid, efficacious remedy for such abnormal conditions HeRin th*ir use as per directions on each sealed jbe. i

NOTE: Vor many years Dr. Baker has been grlvlnor free advice and prescriptions to millions of people through the press columns, and doubtless has helped in relieving illness and distress more than any sinirle individual in the world's history. Thousands have written him expressions of gratitude and confidence similar to the following:

Dr. l^ewis Baker. Dear Sir:—The plain Yellow Minyol—it is great. I have used it twice. I have been troubled with itching scalp, falling hair for two years and have tried everything hearj of and nothing rid any good. I probably paid out |25.C»0 in the last twr years. But the Minyol stopped the falling hair and the Itching is most prone. Tt is a great relief, and I surely believe that I can have my hair as nice and pretty as it was before. I can recommend it to every one who has falling hair, dandruff, and pitching scalp. Tours very gratefully.

Ashamed to Go In Street. Came to a Head and Were Red, Itched and Burned Until Was in Misery,

When I was about fourteen years old my face and neck began to break out in large pimples and blackheads until I was ashamed to go in the street. I was just covered. The pimples came to a head and were v y e a u s e o scratching so much on account of the itching. They itched and burned some times until I wJs in misery. "I saw an advertisement forCuticura Soap and Ointment, and began to use them. After using about five cakes of Cuticura Soap and one box of Cuticura Ointment, I was completely healed." ested directly in banking, either as stockholders or employes in banks. Its activity was not exactly defined when it was organized, but its purpose was to study banking laws. Women stockholders in the past did not come directly into close business association with their banks as they should have done. They really did not know how to bring about this desired association until recent years."

The club or association has accomplished much by its influence in promoting school savings banks and thrift clubs among self-supporting young women.

A bank book is an excellent volume for a woman to study. It makes mighty interesting reading at times, and the housewife needs to cultivate the banking habit Just as surely as the business or professional man or woman-

Some of the leading. German papers of this country within the past few days are sounding & new note- They are calling upon the Prussian war lords to readjust their notion about the entrance of the Americans into the SI i 1 war, and warn that' such convictions relative to .our "wooden swords" and "contemptible army" ought to be1 amemied. Of the 8,606,693 there remain on active service or in reserve between the ages of seventeen and forty-five, 5,435,000. To these may only be added in the coming years the conscripts of the class of 1919, numbering 450,000, making a total of 5,885,000 effectives.

This is the rea) army with which the millions of the allies have to contend, for without it the Austrians, unless fighting from mountains, or the Bulgars and Turks, without its discipline, would amount to little.

All the signs of the current times are that Germany is relaxing, that her day of exhaustion is approaching'. If this condition is not unmistakably present today, its materialization is but a matter of weeks.

What beauty specialists regard as one of thr most important discoveries In recent years is the phelactino method of removing superfluous hair. Its preat advantage, of course, lies in the fact that it actually removes the hair roots. It does this easily. Instantly, harmlessly. Sufforers from the affliction named need no longer despair. The actual hair-roots come out before your very eyes, leaving the skin as smooth and hairless as a babe's.

Because it offers such complete relief. a stick of phelactine is the most inexpensive thing a woman can buy for the removal of hairy growths. For the same reason druggists do not hesitate to sell it under a money-back guarantee. You can use it with entire safety it is so harmless one cculd evea eat it without any U1 effect.—Adv.

This Is not a lucky day, according to astrology. The sun, Uranus and Mars are all in evil place, while Mercury alone is friendly.

It is a most unfortunate time for the asking of favors, the application for position or appointment or the seeking of any political office.

The aspect of the sun and Uranus Is believed to encourage misunderstandings and misapprehension. It is likely to cause suspicion regarding motives and even to inspire slander and misrepresentation.

Scandals will be very numerous in the next few weeks, especially will there be many accusations of injustice and favoritism in selections and appointments and many of these will be founded on fact.

There is an evil sign for the army today. This may mean nothing more than the thwarting or holding up of plans or trouble about supplies.
