FARM CROPS ENCOURAGING.

Bumper Oats Crop Predicted, and Large Bean Acreage is Planted. By Special Correspondent.

OD.ON, Ind., July 7.—Farmers are preparing for wheat harvest. The crop in this section, while far from being heavy is better than was expected. Fly is seen in some fields, but this pest is mnetly confined to fields that were planted early last fall. Tlio heads seem well filled this season and the straw stiff and strong. Binding twine gives the farmer a slight shock when he goes to buy it this season for with everything else it has risen in price.

Oats look better than they have for years this season. The wet spring was very favorable for the oats crop and bumper yields will be found in most sections. Corn is growing ranidlr and in most places looks good. Many farmers report *bad stands and some replanting was done.

Most everybody, who planted navy beans finished this week. The acreage is large for this community which is not regularly a bean growing section.
