TOTAL NOT COMPLETE
With Several City and Most of County Precincts Out, Figures Reach Above 13,000.
With three precincts in the city to be heard from and the results of the second day's registration to come in, the totals for the city after Monday's registration show a marked gain in most of the districts. There was a decrease in two precincts of the Sixth ward and some differences in a few of the others, but for the most part there has been a decided increase. The country precincts which have been officially heard from show about the same number which voted in the previous election, with a decrease in A of Prairieton.

With the exception of precinct"" of the Fourth ward and A of the Sixth ward, all of" the city precincts were open Tuesday, and it was stated by County Chairman George A* Moorhead, after a visit to many of the polling places, that at least ,one hundred voters will register during the day in each precinct.
Following were the figures received from the country precincts: A, Harrison, 652, open Tuesday A, Sugar Creek, 180,* closed A, Prairieton, 212, closed, and B, -Honey Creek, 214, closed.
ROBBERY CASE A PUZZLE.
Negroes Deny Geting Money Missing At Drug Store. Walter Handy, 24 years old, colored, arrested with William Moore, colored, in the act of robbing the Neukom drug store at Seven'.h and Lafayette avonue early Monday morning, gave Detective Fred Armstrong and others a pretty fair fdea of the "loudness" of a gun when it is staring one in the face. "I went through the Suex canal as a sailor on a merchant ship when all those 'Big Berthas' and 'Long TOms'? were booming jiot far off a fe.w months ago,'-' said Handy, "And lemme tell yoi: right now •'•?y: didn't s6und a bit louder dan do holes in dem revolvers thoso nolicemen put in our faces. never did see so many policemen and so many revolvers in one place before in all my life."

PLAN CLASS ACTIVITIES.
Rose Freshmen Decide to Give Annual Eanquet Oct. 25. The freshmen class of the Rose Polytechnic institute Monday afternoon met in Professor Hathawav's room to plan the activities of the class for this fall and definately decided upon the anual banquet to be given October 25. The place was not named, but the Hotel Demint was strongly recommended. The comnittee to complete the arrangements for the affair was named as follows: Robert Gilkison, Robert Clea^y. Herbert Sliger, James Conover and Karl Penno.
At this meeting tentative plans for a subscription dance to be given by the class were taken up.
NORMAL SOCIETY DEBATES.
Daedaljans Approve Record of Wilson! Administration. The Daedalian Literary society of the State Normal school met in the Emeline Fairbanks library Monday! evening for the debate, "Resolved that the present, democratic administration has justified its re-election." The affirmative was supported by Harris, Bell and Sechler, the negative by Gwinn, Hanna and Lockwood. The affirmative was declared the winner.
Lawrence Hopper and Luther Lockwood were chosen to represent the society in the oratorical league.
NAME BENEDICTTTS CHIEFS, v
Students of the Garfield high school have named Homer Clark editor-in-chief and John Lloyd as business manager of the Benedictus, the annual school paper. The ^teachers of the school will hold a mieting in the near future to confirm the selection of the students and also to sanction the election of the sophomore class officials, elected last week.

INDIANAPOLIS. Oct. 10.—The state of Indiana closed its fiscal year today, with the largest balance to its credit in its history, according to reports presented. At noon, the total balance in the state treasury was $2,166,S9S.S6.
This represented the balances in all state funds. The general fund was larger than for many years, with a total balance of $1,006,197.03, according to the democratic state administration.
Governor Ralston in a formal statement said, in effect, that every debt against the state had been paid and that there are no outstanding liabilities.
The balance in the state treasury will be decreased by perhaps $10,000
