By Special Correspondent. BICKNELIi, Ind., Sept. 30.—One of the greatest developments in the loc^l coal field in several years came to light today when it was announced that leases had been taken on about 10,000 acres of coal land south of Bicknell between the Oliphant-Wasson coal mine and thfe American mine. It is said that test drilling will begin in a few weeks and that a new railroad will be built in this territory.
It is definitely known that the leases are held by Bicknell people and that the project will be financed by local capital. A miners' train will- be run V from this city so that the miners may either live here or in Aliceville.

Mother Had to Tie Gloves On to Keep Her From Scratching,
"My little girl suffered with eczema. There were just two or three little pimplfcs on one side of her face at first but they kept spreading till they covered her whole face. They were quite large and red, ,and when
I washed her a watery matter came from them and they would bleed. They itched and burned so I had to tie gloves on her hands so she could
not scratchy and she kept me awake a good deal nights. 'Then I saw Cuticura Soap and Ointment advertised and I used about a half

Says Election of Wilson and Moss Important to Laboring Man, His is Secondary.
By Special Correspondent. CLINTON, Ind., Sept. 30.—Hon. John A. M. Adair addressed a crowded house at the Owls' hall in Clinton last night. Mr. Adair, escorted by a committee from Clinton, came across the country from Rockville, where he spoke to a large crowd in the afternoon. Enroute, he stopped at Mecca, just as the two hundred men at the tile plant had finished thefr day's work, and made a short talk to them.
The Clinton meeting is the only one Adair will hold in the county and representatives from every section were in attendance. The Dering band furnished the music. There were a number of women in the audience. The speaker urged that his election was only a secondary, in causing a continuance of, prosperity. He said it was more important to the laboring men of the district that they elect Wilson and Moss, as the president could do more

Fortune Teller Fixfs Date While Geomancer Decides Upon Location of Grave.
CHAG TEHFU, Honan Province, China, Aug. 23.—(Correspondence of the Associated Press^—Just one year after the movement to make Yuan Shi Kai emperor was formally launched* the body of the dead president was placed in its final resting place, near this city, today. The site of the distinguished president's grave is surrounded by a great semi-circular wall surmounted by high battlements. The opening into the wall is similar to the gates of Chinese city walls. It is effectively barred and watch towers flank in both sides.
Geomancy played an important part in the location of the late president's grave. A famous occult practitioner was, summoned from Chekiang province to select a propitious spot for the site of the family tomb. This geomancer considered the water currents
with a congress in sympathy with hisj?-n* the direction of the wind, conditions supposed to play an important part in protecting the departed souls against evil spirits.
principles. He dwelt on the great nt the present administration, and explained the legislation which headed off the great strike of the railroad workers. He demonstrated the desperation of the opposition and the folly of their claim that the law is unconstitutional. He reminded the miners, and all wage earners, of the fact that there has not been a single law in their favor placed on the Statute books of either state or nation that was not put there by the democratic party. He showed that during the sixteen years of undisturbed republican control, not a single measure friendly to labor was brought about. He urged that the democratic .party had given the laboring men everything they had asked for, and that in turn, they should support the ones who' have been their friends.
After the location had been selected and the walls surrounding the tomb had been erected, a fortune teller was called upon to fix a propitious date for the burial. At first August 24 was agreed upon but the fortune teller finally declared against the date, saying it,was clearly a day of double mourning and the ceremony was held one day earlier. As a result of this, sudden changes, many public officials who came from Peking to attend the ceremony were too late.
The president's coffin was first placed on a stone platform and then covered with a wooden frame over which a great mound of concrete was placed. At the right side of the coffin sufficient space was reserved within the enclosure for another mound under which the body of Madame Yuan, the deceased president's first wife, will be placed when she dle3.
