NOTICE FOR BIDS FOR THE ALTERATION OF AND ADDITION TO TWO DISTRICT SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN
FAYETTE TOWNSHIP OF VIGO COUNTY, INDIANA. Notice is hereby given that the undersigned school trustee, of Fayette township of Vigo county, together with the advisory board of said township, will receive sealed bids and prbposala until two (2) o'clock p. m., Monday, September 25, 1916, at the office of said trustee in said township, for the alteration of and addition to two district school buildings, including the furnishing of the material therefor. Bids v/ill be received for the alteration of and addition to the two buildings as a whole, and, also, for the alteration of and addition to the two buildings separately.
Notice is further given that the plans, specifications and detail drawings for the said work are now on file at the office of the trustee, also at the office of Johnson & Miller, architects, at 105 South Seventh street, Terre Haute, Indiana, and may be inspected by prospective tidders. All work done and materials furnished shall be in accordance with the said plans and specifications.
Each bid for the alteration of and addition to the two said buildings shall be accompanied by a certified check on some responsible bank or trust company, in the sum of one hundred ($100) dollars, payable to the undersigned school trustee, as a1 guaranty that if the maker is the successful bidder that he Trill enter into a contract with the undersigned school trustee for the immediate construction and completion of the said work, or so much thereof as may be awarded to him, and will execute a bond, with surety, to.the apprdval of the said trustee in a sum equal to the amount of h'ls accepted bid, for the payment of all sub-con-tractors, material men and laborers, and for the faithful completion of the said work according to the said contract. But one check in the sum of one hundred ($100) dollars will be required from each bidder.
If any bidder, upon, being awarded the contract for the said work, or any

thereof, in accordance with his id, shall fail to enter .into a contract with the undersigned, for the completion of the said work, and also tc give such bond, then the said school trustee shall be entitled and- authorized to forfeit such certified check, and to place the same in the funds of the said school township as liquidated damages for such failure.' Checks of the unsuccessful bidders will be promptly returned to the bidders.
All bids must comply with the form prescribed by the state board of accounts of the state of Indiana. Uniform bid blanks may be had of either the school trustee or the architects.

NOTICE OF SALE.
Notice is hereby given that the board of truptees of the school city of Terre Haute, Indiana, will offer for sale at public auction at ten o'clock a. m. on the 16th day of September, 1916, the following described real estate in Vigo county, Indiana, to-wlt:
Lot No. forty-five (45), in Algy Dean's subdivision of that portion of the west half of the north'half of the southeast quarter of section twentyseven 21), township twelve (12) north, range nine (9) west, lying west of the Wabash and Erie canal, the same being the old Booker Washington school located at Thirteenth and Onehalf (13%) street and Dean street and' being seventy (70) feet by one hundred and forty-two (142) feet. Said property will be sold to the highest bidder for cash.
The board of trustees will first offer for sale the buildings thereon to be removed within sixty (60) days. They will then offer" the real estate with the buildings removed. Thev will then offer for sale the ground and buildings.
