CUV ATTORNEY ASKS CAS CASE MNG

Says

Motion Will Be Filed Before Public Service Commission One Day Th?s Week.

A motion for the reconsideration of the evidence and a further reduction in rates will be filed before the public service commission at Indianapolis before the end of the week, in the case of the city of Terre Haute against the Citizens Gas and "Fuel company, according to an announcement by Clarence Royse, city attorney, Monday. Mr. Royse will go to Indianapolis person ally some time this week and lay his motion before the commission.

In the motion to be filed City Attorney Royse will allege that the reduction granted the city is not sufficient and says upon the evidence submitted and the commission's judgment of the evidence, the reduction should have been more than granted. "Taking the evidence and the figures the way the commission decided them a further reduction than that granted should have been made," said City At torney Royse, "as some mistakes were made by the commission in figuring the reduction. As it is the reduction granted by the commission upon whose behalf the suit was instituted, is hardly effected by the reduction. Most of it goes to the big consumers. I confl dently believe the commission will sus tain our motion for a reconsideration of the evidence."

City Attorney Royse's motion will follow a motion of the gas company for a re-hearing of the case. Th^ gas company alleges the reduction will mean a decrease of about $28,000 a year in its receipts.

The. motion on behalf of the city for a further reduction in the rates is not influenced by the filing of the motion

TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES HERE.

Discuss Plans for State Meeting in December. Township trustees from all parts of the Fifth district met at the Vigo county court house, Monday morning, to complete plans for the state meeting to be held in December in Indianapolis. Legal, Questions pertaining to the trustees' work were discussed and preparations were made to introduce at the state meeting suggestions for certain changes in the laws governing their work. It is said many of the present laws are complicated.

Among those who attended the meeting were Edgar Williams, Edgar Wilson and Harry H. Talbott, of Putnam county Walter Byerly and George E. Phipps, of Parke county Alfred Dunkley and John Taylor, of Vermillion H. Brown and M. Gregory, of Hendrix county John Boatman, Andy Powers, Nott Herrald, Edward B. Martin and Clifford Davis, of Vigo county, and Carl A. Biller, William McGill and J. B. Oard, of Clay county.

The trustees compared notes on the application of the ditch law in their townships and the possibility of having it changed was also taken up.
