SHOW EARLY INDIANA

Exhibits Recall Days of Rappites At New Harmony—Some Pioneer Pictures.

One of the most interesting exhibits that have been held at the Fairbanks librafy by the Indiana libraries is the one now-on. In consists of interesting pictures of early Indiana, being especially valuable at this time because of the observance of Indiana's centennial.

Quite an interesting bit of history is told by the pictures of the three different state houses Indiana has had thus far. The first is shown at Corydon, 1816-1824 the second is at Indianapolis, 1835-1877, and the third or present one at Indianapolis, completed in 1888. Another interesting building shown is the Rappite fort, New Harmony, erected in 1818. It is a stone building of three stories, the stones being of various sizes and kinds, and the windows are quite small.

Other pictures are as follows: William H. Harrison, territorial governor of Indiana, 1801-1812 capitol building, Indiana territory, Vincennes, Ind., 1806-1813 Harrison mansion, Vincennes,* home of William Henry Harrison when governor of Indiana territory view of Tippecanoe battleground where famous battle was fought Nov. 7,1811 Ft.
