Notice is hereby given by the board of public works of the city of Torre Haute, Indiana, that sealed proposals will be received by it at its office until the hour of 2. o'clock p. m. on Friday, the 30th day of June, 1916, for the construction of pipe sewers, together with all catch basins, inlets, manholes, laterals, and other appurtenances, as shown on the plains, profiles and specifications therefor, now on file in said office, upon and along the following streets and alleys:
First avenue from Thirteenth street to Nineteenth street Sixteenth street from Cbllege avenue to Washington avenue: Putnam avenue from Sixth and One-half street to Seventh street Seabury avenue from Sixth and One-half street to Seventh street alley between Sixth and One-half street and Seventh street, from Washington avenue to Putnam avenue.
All work done in the construction of such sewers and appurtenances shall be done in accordance with the plans, profiles and specifications adopted therefor, and now on file in this office.
Bidders in submitting proposals for such work must accompany each bid with a certified check for $100, as evidence of good faith that the successful bidder will, within five days from the acceptance of such proposal, execute a contract therefor and-enter into a bond, as required by law, to the satisfaction of said board. A failure of the successful tidder to enter into such contract and bond upon such acceptance, will cause such check to be forfeited to the city of Terre Haute, and the sum of money payable thereon, as agreed and liquidated damages for such failure.
