Just thirty-seven jears ago today, Mr. Sherman opened Sullivan's first opera house on the south side of the ^square, and for years he conducted it. s ^he-show house was largely patronized and continued in. the old location until .destroyed by flre about fifteen years v-tfgo.

By Special Correspondent. P^RIS, 111., March 3—The ladies' minstrel, given under the auspices of St. Mary's choir at ShoafE's opera house Thursday evening was a grand success from every standpoint. The show was under the direction of •Messrs. Ray ^ntchett and Webb feeggs, of Terre Haute, who have been drilling the company for the past month. The principal fun makers included Mrs. Florence Williams, Miss Bertha Hunter, Mrs. Nelle Hunter Jurev, all of Pans, and Miss Mary, Halloran, of Terre Haute. Miss Halloran also sang the song hit of the season, "Love Moon." The productl6n will, be repeated again tonight.
