TERRE HAUTE HOUSE HAVING DRESS-UP WEEK

Numerous Improvemenes Under Way Under the Direction of Manager William A. Fowler.

Dress-Up week has hit the Terre Haut© house. W. A. Fowler, the new manager of the Wabash avenue hotel, Thursday started an anny of painters and decorators on the attack and the tipper floors of the house present a busy scene.

The reception room on the second flpor has been rearranged and tlie en tire floor Is being redecorated. The wood work Is being enameled white while the walls qnd ceilings are being decorated in delicate white and green, Every room Is being redecorated with wall paper In new French effects and the appearance of the house has been wonderfully altered.

New plumbing and newly enameled bath tub# are replacing the old furnishing* In the bath rooms. Carpeting* of BOlld red are being laid on the parlor® and rooms and r.ew hard floors are being put In the sample rooms and other conveniences added for the traveling salesman.

Mr. Fowler announced Friday that new service had been started in the dining room and cafe and hereafter special attention will be paid to Sunday luncheons and Sunday evening dinners. A business men's noon lunch will also be one of the features of the dining room.

Mr. Fowler paid: "Everything points to a big increase in the- number of traveling men on the road. In fact business for the month so far showa Hn increase of Ilfty per cent, over last yeer."

MINERS PLAN RESCUE MEET.

Dr. A. F. Knoefel Goes to Bicknell to Discuss Program for Event. Or. A. F. Knoefel, president oi' the American Mine Safety association, went to Bicknell, Ind., Friday afternoon to confer with the committee there on the arrangements for the mine rescue meet to be held in Bicknell, Oct. 150. Or. Knoefel will be in charge of the meet. Teams from all parts of the state will compote for the prizes in first aid and rescue work.

Police Thought She Wanted to Tarry a While. Two women, Horn. Siioltz and Kva. Thomas, were in Police Court Friday charged with -Hfatutory offense. They were arretted at 201 Chestnut street. They were fined $50 and given thirty days in Jail. The Sholtz woman said that she had loaned the Thomas girl a shirtwaist and went to get it. While at the house she was arrested. She denied that she intended remaining at the house.
