IPILS MAKE RECORD SCHOOL FIRE Mill I

Children. At Fairbanks Building March. Out In Less Than Minute and Half.

*-i

One pf the most successful fire drills, cording to Fire Chief Bledsoe, ever aid in Terre Haute schools took ace Thursday at the Fairbanks rhool. More than 700 pupils marched rora the building' in less than one ad one-half minutes. According to »e Are chief this is not only remark =le because of the small length of

A required to empty the building, also for the manner In which the rijll was conducted. [The school, under the instructions

:i

Principal Neyhouse, has perfected drill which is somewhat different fom other schools. When the Are .Wrm was first sounded the larger Vs ran to all the exits and opened doors wide. The smaller chil-

In, with the boys leading, then left building, crippled children leaving line and standfng by themselves til the larger boys returned and fried them down. This was all acnplished In an incredible length of he, said the chief. According to the chief girls are more under fire than boys, because the 78 always want to bolt and get out & hurry. For this reason the girls a sent down last and the boys are go as fast as they wish to.

IF you Stlld s£e them! Thfe'"'styles, the materials, the :j clever tailoring 1 If we could spread out the charming models before you here, there would be no need of this announcement.

This year we have assortments that seem to surpass all former efforts.

You will find the simple, plain tailored models. Then those that show the style effects dictated by the great war. And still others are fur trimmed—the most fashionable outstanding effect of the season. The edict has gone forth that braid trimmings are good, so here are suits with handsome braided effects.

From the standpoint of style the Russian Belted Effects have the first call. They button clear to the throat and have the flare skirt from the girdle down. There are also short box coats, but many of them are shown with the finger tip length, as it is called.

Belts are found on practically every model, but the designers have found new ways to apply them—new ways to ornament them, and they are different in nearly every case, from all former seasons. ... \.•

The colors are almost exclusively blacks, blues, browns and greens. The fabrics are wool poplins, gaberdines, whipcords, broadcloths, serges, etc.

The sizes range all the way from misses' and little women's to stouts, up to 52 bust.
