Survivors of Volunteer Regiment Rename Officers—Resolutions for Deoeased Members.

By Special Correspondent. BRAZIL, Ind., Sept. 25.—The annual reunion of the survivors of the Fortyji.tl third Indiana volunteers closed this morning with a business meeting at the Davis hotel, at which it was de!V" dded to hold the next annual reunion

In this city on the last Friday and Saturday of September, 1916. The same officers were elected for the ensuing year at the business meeting yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Melissa McCullough of this city president, Mrs. "Wiley Parrish of Dick Johnson township secretary, and J. M. Campbell of Bowling Green treasurer. A total of thirty-seven survivors of the regiment attended the reunion.

Resolutions of condolence were passed on the death of eight members of the regiment during the past year, and resolutions were also adopted on the death of the late R. L. Shattuck, who was an honorary member of the association.

The annual camp fire was held in the assembly room of the hotel la3t night and was well attended. Congressman Ralph W. Moss was the speaker of the evening and spoke of the injustice to the old soldier and widows of veterans resulting from the red tape of the pension department. A number of veterans made short talks and a short musical program was Tendered.. ....

BRAZIL, Ind., Sept. 25.—The case against Anthony Murphy on the charge of habitual drunkenness will be heard by Attorney J. A. McNutt, as special judge of the city court Monday evening. When the case came up before Mayor Jones last night, Attorney Robinson, appearing for Murphy, moved to quash the affidavit on the grounds that the Mission billiard hall where he was arrested was not a public place. Mayor Jones overruled the motion and a, change of venue was then taken, Attorney McNutt being selected-

Lodge Has Celebration.

By Special Correspondent. BRAZIL, Ind., Sept. 25.—The Mayflower ledge of Rebekahs celebrated the 64th anniversary of the order with an entertainment in the I. O. O. F. hall last evening.

POLICE COURT DOCKET.

The case of Mary Stevenson, claiming Wabash, Ind., as her home, was continued in City Court Saturday morning. She is charged with a statutory offense.

Tl»e case of Marie Hedges, charged with a statutory offense, was continued until Tuesday afternoon.

The case of Willie Golding, charged •with intoxication and vagrancy, was continued until Monday. Golding's wife had not Keen heard from, accordins: to Chief Doyle.

Isaac Ames, charged with wife desertion, obtained a continuance in his case untii Monday. The complaint was made by his wife, Ruth Ames.

The case of Mike Orin, foreign bartender for Daniel Slusser, charged with selling beer without a license, was continued until Tuesday. Slusser is also charged with permitting others than members of his family in the saloon, and it is said he will plead guilty Monday.

Notice is hereby given that the department of public safety of the city of Terre Haute, state of Indiana, will receive sealed bids or proposals for the following fire apparatus:

Four motor driven hose wagons and one motor driven aerial ladder-truck. The hose wagons to,have capacity to carrv not less than one thousand (1,000) feet "of hose. Each bidder should, submit proposition for each of the vehicles to be equipped with electric self-start-ers and price without self-starters also should submit proposition for equipping each hose wagon "wl'h "Booster pump, and without "Booster pump. The aerial truck shall be of such capacity tbat when the ladders are extended the highest point of the ladder shall be at least seventy-five feet from the surface' of the ground. Propositions will also be entertained tp exchange the aerial truck now owned by the city of Terre Haute as part payment for the proposed new motor driven truck. Each bidder wiU be required to submit with his bid detailed specifications of the equipment prop.dsed to be furnished, and of :all attachments and equipment included in the bid. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a written contract with the department for the furnishing of the apparatus, and will be required to execute bond to the city of Terre Haute, to the approval of this department, with sufficient surety, conditioned that the bidder will reimburse and hold the city harmless for any expense it may incur by reason of defective workmanship or material in any of the apparatus furnished said bond to.be in the sum of five thousand dollars. All bids shall specify when equipment "will be delivered.

Notice is hereby given by the board of public works of the city of Terre Haute, Ind., that sealed proposals will be received by it at its office, at the hour of 2 o'clock p. m. on Tuesday, September 28, 1915, for the construction of a pipe sewer on Sixth and One-half street, from Farrington street to Washington avenue.

All work done in the making of said described public Improvement shall be in accordance with the detail plans, profiles, drawings and specifications which are on file, and may be seen In the offloi of said board of public works.

The bidders, in submitting proposals to make said described public improvement. must accompany each bid with a certified check In the suirl of one hundred ($100.00) dollars, as evidence of good faith that the successful bidder will execute within ten days from the acceptance of the proposals, contracts and bonds satisfactory to the said board, to do the work of making said improvement. A failure of the successful bidder to enter into such contract and bonds upon the acceptance of such proposals will forfeit the checks and the sums of money payable thereon to the city as agreed and liquidated damages for such failure.

Also, at the same time and place, said board of public works will receive sealed proposals for the construction of a catch basin, Inlet and connection complete, on the west side of Ninth street, near Wabash avenue, in accordance with the specifications now on file.
