Notices Posted in Stamping Mill and •f Elsewhere Explaining Branch Library Plan.

Efforts to encourage all persons living in the vicinity of the Deming echool to make use of its library are being made by Mrs. Sallie Hughes, librarian of the Fairbanks library. Tuesday she had notices posted at the stamping mill with the following announcement: "You may draiv books from the Deming school branch library between 3:30 and 9. Reading room open on Sunday from 2 to 9 p. m."

A series of lectures will be opened by Mrs. F. W. Shaley on "Mormonism" after the regular lesson of the Business Girls' Bible league at the Y. W. C. A. Tuesday evening. Mrs. Shaley is a cplendid lecturer and has made a thorough study of the subject. She will give three lectures to the business girls.

How to take care of the books which they, take from the shelves of the library is the lesson library attendants pre trying to teach the young library Teaders. To this end the following, accompanied by a clever drawing of two litWe tots, has been placed in the children's reading room: "The sroops they wet their Angers "To ti'rn the leaves of books, "And then they crease the corners down "And think that no one looks. "They print the marks of dirty hands, "Of lollypops and gum, "On picture-book and fairy book "As often as they come. "Are you a goop?"

And then the children perhaps ask each other: Who in the deuce wants to be a goop?"
